Near Perfect Football Day.

Post by houseboy » Mon Nov 25, 2019 12:22 am

Been pondering over Saturday and concluded that it was very nearly perfect. The lads whupped Watford and my 2nd team Stanley buried Bolton. Then in the evening a veritable feast of South American football. The Libertadores cup final. Okay, like most major finals it didn’t quite live up to the hype, Flamengo forgot to turn up till the 89th minute. Losing from the 15th minute they didn’t look like scoring if they’d played all weekend. Then the last 6 minutes just went bonkers. Barbosa equalised out of the blue on 89 then added a second 3 minutes later. As if that wasn’t enough Palacios of River Plate and Barbosa himself were both sent off in the 95th. Breathless ending to an otherwise fairly ordinary game.

The downside was the bloody Gooners let me down in my works last man standing. The only time I ever want em to win and the bar stewards let me down.

Ah well you can’t win em all. I guess that’s why we love the game.

Also AFCW won and Franchise lost, but two results in the Championship spoiled things for me, so not quite perfect.
