I'm getting pretty tired generally of the assertion that Burnley are 'one dimensional' in their play....I think it's been over exaggerated by managers looking for lame excuses.....

Whilst you’re thumbing through the programme, have a quick look at Jacob’s (our mascot for the day) prediction for the score. He was interviewed before the game on the big screen too and predicted it.

Same with opposition fans all jumping on the word 'horrible' to describe any aspect of us. They seem to think it's hurtful towards us; I think it's bloody brilliant. Keep it up everyone!

Just shows how they are affected by the problems we cause.....but we cause different problems too.

Also interesting how often we don’t change the starting eleven based on who we play. Basically it is more important to be good at what you do rather than try to combat specifically what the opponent does....perhaps Southampton should note that. They may not have then ended up with the worst home record in the league....

Changing tactics, training differently - but these pre-match comments from a manager are ones I enjoy reading. One particular manager said: "“We know Burnley is a tough game. We have that experience. They are a defensive minded team. They have had good results away from home against the big teams this season, but we know they play direct football.

“It is all about being concentrated on second balls, but also in our ball possession we need to be more direct. It is important to pick a team that can play that type of football.”

That afternoon, we beat Ronald Koeman's Everton with a goal at the end of a 24 pass move.

As the years have rolled on by the attendance against Orient is pushing upwards of 100,000. In 30 years time I expect that Hendrick goal to be pushing upwards of 500 passes, there seems to more more added every time it’s mentioned.

As for teams changing tactics. The greatest was Pulis at West Brom in one of the 4-0. His team just let us have the ball . Thankfully we’ve improved with it nowadays.

You do get some absolute nuggets particularly in post match interviews. However, I do think we need to take into account the fact that english is not their mother tongue and most managers - but not all - are conversing in some strange mangled english manager speak patois. The word "moment(s) has crept into the vocabulary often being used out of context and even Sean Dyche has succumbed to this affection.

It's this word 'predictable' that gets used a lot and I find it odd. Fans call us 'horrible', managers say they know what we are going to do. It's all a bit mystifying isn't it. I've said it so many times but I'll keep saying it - if you don't like what we do find a way of beating it or shut the f*ck up. The excuses for not beating us are getting more ridiculous by the day almost, not least the grass length. Do these fools not fully understand how stupid they are making themselves look. All this ranks alongside that most ridiculous statement that still gets used by managers to this day ' we did enough to win' after a defeat or a draw, no you bloody obviously didn't. Some of the most ridiculous shite ever uttered is uttered by football managers and many fans.

i think some of the opposition managers overthink it when they are at home to Burnley-surely all they need to do to win is make sure the grass is cut really short and is well watered
