Re: Chorley v Derby
Strangely Chorley signed Clitheroe manager Dave Lynch yesterday on a short loan so he could play in this game. He's not even on the bench. Dave was in our youth team from 2009 to 2011.

You're right, not sure why I thought Chorley. It's Spurs they are playing too but it's tomorrow. Hope he gets on, he's a good lad, sat with us at the last ever CM dinner.

Yes, they seem to think highly of him at Clitheroe. Every credit to the club for letting him have this opportunity.

Well done Chorley.
Just takes the gloss of it not being in front of a full Victory Park.

Yes that's a pity, but it's still an historic moment for Chorley, they'll now be awaiting the draw on Monday hoping to land a plum tie.Winstonswhite wrote: ↑Sat Jan 09, 2021 2:08 pmWell done Chorley.

And the money earned from this cup run will be priceless in keeping them afloat amidst the lack of fans and other commercial revenues.
Re: Chorley v Derby
Didn't teams used to get fined if they fielded a weakened team?
Well done Chorley.

Re: Chorley v Derby
Did you see the discussion with Walton (ex ref) and savage discussing the penalty that was overturned and comparing it to Popes challenge on Bamford. The referee s opinion was just bizarre
Re: Chorley v Derby
Yes I saw it Walton's excuse was ridiculous, Savage could not believe what Walton was saying

Re: Chorley v Derby
What chance do we have of having consistency when ex pro refs think the challenge between goalie and striker in the 2 matches were different outcomes. His explanation was utterly bizarre. What a plank
Re: Chorley v Derby
In both instances the goalkeeper won the ball but then clattered into the striker but Walton's excuse that the ball brought the Derby striker down was unbelievable

The ball brought him down, like seriously WTF. They actually made Savage look like a prick to by saying you'll be glad to know Robbie won't be here next time Knobs

Re: Chorley v Derby
I don't know about in the cups, I do know we were fined in the early 60's for fielding a weakened team in a league game against Chelsea, due to our fixture backlog, but despite fielding a 2nd string we still drew 4-4.
The 2 options for Derby were delaying this tie, or sending the kids, credit to them they sent their kids, so the fixture could be fulfilled.
