I think he will be just what the club need. Has a good no nonsense attitude, served under Clough at Forest, a decent player with United and Celtic,
and has past managerial experience.

His psychopath tendencies usually ends in self destruct, as happened at Sunderland and Ipswich.
Best where he is, acting the part of confrontational madman used to scare other Sky pundits to death.
So no thanks

Not for me. I read his book and he is one arrogant so and so. I get it "he's a winner" etc but he'd be here two seasons max before being sacked or chucking his toys and leaving.
As for his punditry, I quite like it. He's a wee bit grumpy but he does say what most of us think and adds some controversy to the normal "yes men"

Wouldnt want him in the same country let alone the same town.
A thug and a bully, and an absolute arsehole. I’d be embarrassed to have him anywhere near the club. Couldn’t think of anyone LESS likely to be on the radar should we find ourselves losing SD.

keane is a gob*****, no other way to describe him. he would have no longevity in him because he has constantly flitted about in the game and not achieved much because of it.
he is okay on tv for a witty quote, but that's where it ends. file under has been.

I've tried to think of a constructive sentence as to why I wouldn't want Keane as our Manager, unfortunately I can't think of one. I can only one up with one word- "Physco".

The reason why hes not managed again is that it far more lucrative talking shite and being a "pundit" than actually working for a living

No thanks, I love him as a pundit though.
I'd look at Barnsleys manager if he keeps it up, shocked what he's doing their with that squad, took them from near the bottom to fighting for the playoffs and the form team in the league.

Simple answer No. His managerial record is poor.
He leaves clubs in a mess, just look where Sunderland and Ipswich are now. There is a mythology about Keane that being tough and uncompromising are the qualities of a good manager. For me he lacks those player management skills and maybe he is unable to see a bigger picture.

A bit left field but I'd take John Terry .He may need a more experienced assistant to get the best from him.For that I'd go for Chris Houghton

Is he that great as a pundit?
He’s a bit of a one trick pony and I’m not sure I’ve heard him provide anything insightful.
Bonus points for regularly winding up Redknapp though.

Roy Keane is no waster. He dragged himself up (I know because I lived near him when he was growing up) to become a great player, mainly by his own single-minded drive and commitment. He had no silver spoon handed to him and struggled for everything he achieved. He has his opinions and sticks to them as in the fall out with Mick McCarthy, in which many people believe he was correct. He will never make a good manager because he sets his standards too high and gets easily frustrated when players don't have the skills comparative to their earnings. He also lacks the ability to improve players and is not given to an 'arm around the shoulder' approach in the dressing room. He is like all of us made up of many characteristics and the generalizations made here about Celts, tea boys and Psychos etc are a reflection of a mindset that is at best unsympathetic and careless and at worst racist.
As for anyone including Barnes and the rest of the queue attempting to chin him, put a fleet of ambulances on standby.
