Correct! I found the photo on a Wolves legends site. Driving buses some how seems an unusual occupation for an ex-pro footballer. I'm sure that there are plenty of other examples though.

CT - here's the link to where I found the photo. I am a very lazy reader but I think it says he became a bus driver in the penultimate paragraph.

I’d seen the photo before and he was some size last time he was at the Turf. I’d no idea he’d followed in Billy Ingham’s footsteps and taken up bus driving though.

I have long thought that driving a bus with dozens of peoples safety in your hands was one of the most undervalued and underpaid jobs.

My dad drove buses for years but gave it up around 15 years ago because he couldn't put up with the chavs all piling on each day after school.

I’m not surprised. Behaviour of school kids on buses now is nothing short of a disgrace.

Couple of my mates used to drive buses... both said it was the best job in the world, until they hit the button to let the public on...

Good guy too was John, he lived round the corner from me in Ightenhill, remember talking to him about the tour of Russia, that CT highlighted on here the other day.

Always thought we got rid of him too soon, especially seeing what was to come in.

Ray Deakin drove the team bus but I don't think he ever worked as a bus driver. The last time I spoke to Ray mid 90s he was working in sales for a chemical company.

Jose Mourinho would love Pender to join him as an assistant ,let's face it his teams are notorious for parking the bus.
