He can play down the wing
He can play at the back
Some people even say
He can play in attack
I don’t really care
Where he wants to play
As long as he’s wearing a Burnley shirt
Maxwel Cornet.

Does the name Cornet ring any bells ?Billyblah wrote: ↑Fri Aug 27, 2021 6:39 pmBBC Sport suggesting £3million however, regardless, the Clarets are being seriously left behind by anyone and everyone in the Premiership. Given our longevity in this league there should surely be a capability and financial clout to compete with the lower group of Premiership clubs and pretty much anyone in the Championship. Of course it doesn't help when an owner plunders cash reserves to purchase the club in the first place.
Mr Pace et al need to have a serious look at why Burnley FC is failing to attract outside talent.I fear that such failure is also going to result in our manager walking out Of the door.
He is hardly likely to find a third push for promotion from the Championship to be very palatable.

We’ve made one signing that may eventually break our transfer record. We’re about to make one that will.Billyblah wrote: ↑Fri Aug 27, 2021 6:39 pmBBC Sport suggesting £3million however, regardless, the Clarets are being seriously left behind by anyone and everyone in the Premiership. Reading the city fan melt down over on Reddit is interesting. Just seen someone claim "A last second successful Haaland bid is the only thing stopping this window being a disaster", calls to sack the board etc. They've broken the premier league transfer record this window! Some fans are never happy are they.

I think any report that Cornet is having a medical today is jumping the gun although I remain very confident, as I have for the last few days, that he will be signing for us provided there are no medical hitches.

It’s a shame that with all the songs out there we always seem to be limited to altering lyrics to five or six constantly recycled tunes.

Regarding Cornet, I know it’s only “highlights” I’ve seen on YouTube but he looks very average to me. Can’t believe we’re breaking our transfer record for him tbh- very UnDyche like but part of me glad we’re actually taking a risk for once.

I wouldn’t judge on a YouTube video to be honest. Last time we did that we ended up with Diego Penny. Cornet looks to have pedigree in that he’s played lots of games for a big club including Champions League football.Winstonswhite wrote: ↑Fri Aug 27, 2021 8:11 pmRegarding Cornet, I know it’s only “highlights” I’ve seen on YouTube but he looks very average to me. Cornet thing looks like it happens then.
I have mixed opinions about both our takeover and Maxwel Cornet, HOWEVER one thing I am sure of is that Mike Garlick would be still 10 miles short of the fair price. And best believe he’d never get there.
Guess we’ll see.

I’d just expect a highlights video of someone’s career to be better-maybe penny’s agent had a better editor.
Playing lots of games for a big club means jack sh!t. History is littered with inferior players who’ve been involved with big teams.
Don’t get me wrong, he’s got the CV but I’m not getting my hopes up until I’ve seen him play.

I have only seen the 4 goals against City, but what it showed was he was athletic enough to sprint and then sprint again. Our wingers sprint but then have to pass backwards the majority of times.Winstonswhite wrote: ↑Fri Aug 27, 2021 8:11 pmRegarding Cornet, I know it’s only “highlights” I’ve seen on YouTube but he looks very average to me. Seems to have a decent shot on him which is certainly lacking in our team.
See how it goes.

Methinks this weekend or next week it might be Cornet plus 2 from Josh Doig, AMN, Nat Phillips, Quaison, Christie, Dickie, Rhys Nelson, Keifer Moore or someone from Everton with McNeil the subject of a bid which could go either way.
