Bienvenue, Maxwel Cornet.

C'est très excitant!

UTC
Excitant is a "false friend". You've basically just told him that he's given you a stiffy.

Happy to eat humble pie. I didn’t think it would happen because I thought someone would nick him off our toes or he just wouldn’t fancy it at such an unfashionable club
Then make sure you eat plenty 😆

Ha ha.

I’ve had to stick him on the squad list with no number. Believe he wore 27 at Lyon but that’s Vydra’s. Maybe 12.

I knew of one other for sure but I’m doubting it now. Wouldn’t be surprised though, I got the impression that Dyche is confident.

Anything to do with Everton supposedly making a loan bid?

Well done to all involved in making this happen. It’s been a long time since I’ve been as excited about a signing as this one. Welcome to Burnley Maxwel! Just don’t be offended if we constantly mispronounce your name

By my reckoning, Cornet has scored the same number of goals against Man City as the entire Burnley squad put together! Cornet has 4 goals in 3 matches, compared to 4 for the rest of the Burnley squad (Barnes 2, Mee 1, Gudmundsson 1)
Rodriguez has at least one, in October 2017 for West Brom.

On the topic of kit numbers, against liverpool we put out a full 1-11 with all positions in the right number. Must be decades since that last happened in the prem!

The last time that happened was Charlton, I can’t remember the year they said, but I think it’ll be circa 1998-2001

I’m curious: Anyone know if this is Burnley FC’s first ever transfer dealings with Olympique Lyonnaise?

we scored 4 against them 2009/2010:

3 all draw at City and 1 - 6 at home (in the rain effected match)

Kevin McDonald scored in the 1st match and drank in another! :?

The " Press Pass " video feature just released by the club, has a brief bit of footage of Mr Pace' s trip to Lyon to finalise the Cornet deal.

If you want to include former players who've netted against City, the most memorable surely has to be George Boyd, when we beat them 1-0 back in 2015. :)
