That's the smallest cow I've ever seen.

Brilliant pic - probably the best English goalkeeper I've ever seen but he'd get low marks from some in our player ratings because he was not the best in terms of distribution. But a brilliant, brilliant goalkeeper.

The first time I ever saw a goalkeeper come out of his penalty area to head the ball away from the onrushing forward was at Turf Moor in the '60's.
The keeper was Gordan Banks!

Are you confusing him with Tony Waiters? I played to a high level and watched Banks as often as I could and honestly didn't notice any problems with distribution.

No confusion. Banks’ distribution was not good.

Good job Sir Alf Ramsey wasn't from the Southgate school of goal keeping or he'd of been a bench warmer 😁

Nope, you're confusing him with someone else. He won world keeper of the year 6 seasons on the bounce. You don't get that accolade if you have a major flaw in your game.

Not confusing him with anyone and I saw him play many, many times. Brilliant goalkeeper, the best in the world, but one whose distribution was not the best.

I don't think fans will have listened to pundits and commentators, with agendas about it back in their day.

That’s the difference. Wasn’t important back then.

Judging by the rerun of the World Cup final which I watched this summer it didn’t seem like ball distribution was an important attribute for outfield players

I remember that.
Poor dog.

It was bounced twice and kicked 2/3 rds of the way down the pitch.

In similar circumstances Pickford would have trapped the dog, played keepie uppie with it then sublimely chipped it into the waiting arms of nearby RSPCA inspector.
