Wasn't it Kevin McDonald against Morecambe on August 24th 2010 in the league cup?
He scored from Kings Cross......
Michael King that is....

I remember Vince Overson scoring from just over the halfway line in a 3-3 draw with Wimbledon.

Liam Robinson scored from some way out against Wrexham at the Racecourse, circa 1996 I seem to recall.
,
You beat me to it. From where I was sat behind our goal I was directly behind the ball after Liam struck it and it was in the air and you could not see it travelling. It just seemed to hang in the air for an age at a height above the Wrexham goal. It was only when the back of the Wrexham net rippled that I thought it was going in. Even then there was another time lapse before the Burnley fans celebrated. Liam didn't get many but that was one of the most memorable and unusual for me.

We were in the terraced bit behind our goal, which was almost level with the pitch, so it was a similar predicament for us!

Alex Elder scored at Turf Moor from a long way out close to the halfway line
Ian Brennan was just over the half way line when he beat Ray Clemence who was still mauling about with his towel as the ball flew past him
Till last season this is the only time I remember seeing such strikes

Didn't Chris Waddle score from out on the left wing, seem to remember it was more of a ball played in to the box and bobbled in past everyone.

Think Robbie’s free kick against Spurs in the semi final was further. Was out near the BL touch line
It was nearer the Longside, wasn't it? He did score another against Preston from near the BL in 2003.

Yep you’re correct
I’m getting the 2 mixed up.
Both similar distances though

He scored from around 40 yards and was well in the Wimbledon half. It was an absolute belter though. I think the game was televised.

That Joey Gudjonsson goal was brilliant. If I remember correctly it was a free kick played short to him, though I could be wrong. What I do remember is crying out for him not to shoot. “Oh for fu….yeaaahhhhhhhh”
I did exactly the same! What a strike!

That’s the goals I mentioned, how far do we reckon ?
I think about 40 yards.
Interestingly Joey Gudjonsson did score from his own half for Leicester.
Looks just under 35 yards, so 33-34 yards.
