Why is there no Prem games this weekend?

Post by groove » Fri Jan 28, 2022 10:43 am

As per thread title, probably a stupid question with an obvious answer, no FA Cup, no internationals, so why no league games in top tier?

It’s a Fifa international break… World cup qualifiers in America and Asia 🤔

I would have made a lot more sense to re-arrange some of the postponed games, but instead most of the EPL has fvcked off to Dubai.

More nonsense from foreign managers kicking in.

If it IS the winter break, they should have cancelled it and cleared the ******* backlog.

No need for a winter break at this time. Not cold enough to justify it. Ideal opportunity to clear some backlog, unsurprisingly not taken.

It's not dependent on the weather though, it's a break that the clubs have asked for so they are not going to start fitting in fixtures during it.

Ahhh I see.

Presumably they will be quiet (not whinging) come the end of the season when they are playing 3 games a week for a few weeks…🤔 I wonder if any will say “why couldn’t we have played a game during the winter break?”

They won't because they won't want to lose that break in subsequent seasons although next season is going to be strange with the World Cup in the middle of it.
