Simple song for Wout (Vout)

Post by CroxleyClaret » Sat Feb 12, 2022 11:26 pm

Tears for Fears - Shout Shout

Vout Vout
Weghort’s about
Scoring the goals we’ve dreamed about
Weghort
He’s scoring for you
Come on

Repeat, repeat, repeat

I’m here all week

THIS.

If ‘Woooooouuuuuut’ is the best we can do we may as well just give up chanting.

It’s pronounced VOWT not Wooooooot so the chant literally isn’t his name!!

It’s up there with the mispronounced predecessor of woods and singing in our Lancashire homes - when we are singing about the longside of Burnley being our Lancashire home.

You just sometimes got to accept that you will hear things that are not technically true.

If Wout starts to drift out to the wing, I would suggest "PASS TO THE DUCHIE ON THE LEFT HAND SIDE".

I was just about to ask this. I don’t speak Dutch but I assumed from what little German I know it would be pronounced Vowt, not Voot as the CFS are currently doing.

Getting someone's name wrong isn't down to Grammar

Former boxer Chris Eubank was a classic example.

I’ve accepted that we must have one of the thickest fans bases in the country.
