Good performance again. So refreshing two games in row getting quality referees. Agree with Cirrus he was a bit lenient, but no real complaints.

Watched on TV so can't rate but he is consistently one of the top 3 refs in the country and today was no different.

Nothing contentious for him to deal with. No diving from Klopp's boys either.

Reasonable but how the lino can give us offside with 3 men in front of us is a mystery
This happened several times in the second half.

15 - Kieta should have been booked for cleaning out Westwood when we broke. Used advantage well but ignored the most blatant of yellow cards. Also missed a clear foil on Roberts (I think) at the end of the first half which put Liverpool right in. That could have been very costly for us.
15 - Henderson booking had parallels with the Kieta one. Linesman in front of me in the Longside in first half flagged 3x when we looked inside then kept it down the 4th time when Weghorst was clearly off. The opposite of the protocol then.

20 - A bit of time wasting was ignored. Flattering when the big boys are doing that to us but it doesn't half annoy when a ref does naff all about it (I include them doing nothing about Burnley time wasting in that too).

Decisions I disagreed with, but those went both ways; I did feel Liverpool deserved a yellow card for their time wasting, the last ten minutes is to be expected and accepted, but they were stretching things out for the last thirty five minutes.

He did well overall, but really should have got the card out retrospectively after Westwood was taken down and he'd played an excellent advantage. I couldn't understand why he didn't and as others have mentioned I think both liners got more than one of their offsides badly wrong, but that's not Atkinson's fault. Tarkowski was absolutely incandescent about the flag which went up against him in added time.
