Is the game being shown anywhere?
Re: ARTICLE: Madejski is the venue for the under-23s
Just looked on RFC twitter and it mentions the match but no info about a YT link.

I know what it's called - I just refuse to refer to a ground under that title and given it's never had any other name, I'll stick to the Madejski.Chester Perry wrote: ↑Mon Mar 14, 2022 1:54 pmThat is the Select Car Leasing Stadium

Re: ARTICLE: Madejski is the venue for the under-23s
It is Gawthorpe again now - I think Barnfield transferred their sponsorship from there to the cricket field stand. When that deal was done, staff were not allowed to refer to it as Gawthorpe. They can call it what they like, it will always be Gawthorpe to me.

Re: ARTICLE: Madejski is the venue for the under-23s
no doubt we are looking for a new sponsor down there - the revenue is going to be much needed, as is the new shirt sponsor that we need next season - No matter the division we play in the only way we are going to beat a betting company sponsorship is to go crypto and that is as least as bad - there are some difficult days ahead on the commercial front that is for sureClaretTony wrote: ↑Mon Mar 14, 2022 2:21 pmIt is Gawthorpe again now - I think Barnfield transferred their sponsorship from there to the cricket field stand. Re: ARTICLE: Madejski is the venue for the under-23s
It was a bit vague when they announced the cricket field sponsorship as to whether they were relinquishing Gawthorpe but the club have reverted to using Gawthorpe.Chester Perry wrote: ↑Mon Mar 14, 2022 2:25 pmno doubt we are looking for a new sponsor down there - the revenue is going to be much needed, as is the new shirt sponsor that we need next season - No matter the division we play in the only way we are going to beat a betting company sponsorship is to go crypto and that is as least as bad - there are some difficult days ahead on the commercial front that is for sure
You are so right on the commercial front, not sure how they are going to navigate this problem.

Farcical rule but then we're used to them.

I imagine there would be nothing to stop a club filming these games and showing them at a later date. People are interested.

Burnley Team: Lukas Jensen, Joel Connolly, Dan Sassi, Richard Nartey, Finley Armstrong, Ne-Jai Tucker, Mark Helm, Anthony Gomez Mancini, Ben Woods, Lewis Richardson, Dara Costelloe.
Subs: Lewis Thomas, Harry Williams, Calen Gallagher-Allison, Sam Unwin.
Joel Connolly’s first start for 18 months after a long term injury, another injury they didn’t bother to tell us about.

Not often a member of this board might be supporting the opposition but Reading have James Holden in goal whose dad is an occasional poster on here.

Re: ARTICLE: Madejski is the venue for the under-23s
Nartey & Jensen are still out on loan. They are no longer required by Mansfield & Carlisle so are allowed to play for our under-23s. This is their third game I think.boatshed bill wrote: ↑Mon Mar 14, 2022 7:48 pmHas Richard Nartey been sent back?

No idea on Dodgson but it might be another injury our club haven’t bothered to report.
Re: ARTICLE: Madejski is the venue for the under-23s
Not sure how many potential viewers of CP v Man City they would lose by allowing Reading v Burnley U23'S to be shown!

Just what is the issue with our club not wanting to give details of players injuries etc???ClaretTony wrote: ↑Mon Mar 14, 2022 7:51 pmNartey & Jensen are still out on loan. Re: ARTICLE: Madejski is the venue for the under-23s
You’d think even if they don’t have the internal resource to report on the 23s etc UCLAN is down the road, Sports Journalism students there would be queueing up to just cover the under 23s for the official channels. Needs way more exposure than they give it.

Re: ARTICLE: Madejski is the venue for the under-23s
Wouldn’t have thought so. Don’t think Daz had anything to do with the academy. How a football club can have a player out for 18 months without saying anything is beyond me but it’s not just been one player this season.

That is a poor result. Reading are bottom.

Re: ARTICLE: Madejski is the venue for the under-23s
Very true Tony! Got to say it’s strange at first, every time the ball goes towards the goal your natural reaction is to urge Burnley on and then you see it’s your son in goalClaretTony wrote: ↑Mon Mar 14, 2022 6:32 pmNot often a member of this board might be supporting the opposition but Reading have James Holden in goal whose dad is an occasional poster on here.
Very enjoyable game and good displays on both sides. Reading deserved the win and the couple of more experienced players in their side probably made the difference. The Burnley goal came from a lovely through ball from Gomez which created a 3v1 and Costelloe finished well.

Re: ARTICLE: Madejski is the venue for the under-23s
I'm guessing I already know the answer to this question before I post it, bearing in mind some of the above posts, but what's happened to Max Thompson? Still listed as part of the U23 squad and made a first team appearance about 18 months ago away at City, so clearly rated, but he doesn't seem to be around these days.

Disappeared like so many but the info that comes out of the club is appalling. It’s probably another injury they haven’t bothered to report.Dark Cloud wrote: ↑Tue Mar 15, 2022 11:46 amI'm guessing I already know the answer to this question before I post it, bearing in mind some of the above posts, but what's happened to Max Thompson?
