Ok champ, whatever you say, your inane verbosity has worn me down. Night night and sweet dreams of Dychie. All the best AP.spt_claret wrote: ↑Sun Apr 10, 2022 9:07 pmNothing to do with sentiment,to do with the choice of a manager with a proven track record of promotion in both of his full seasons in the Championship with a poor budget, or rolling the dice on a replacement when the club is already debt ridden and facing major turnover on the pitch with little sign of investment coming.
One is a proven quantity taking the risk that it's ran out, the other is a high risk total unknown. And so far ALKs leadership has been taking high risks, but it's the club on the line, not their money. The last thing the club needs is more risk and instability.

Re: Over to you Alan
It’s a fairly significant defeat today, we got tubbed by the bottom club, conceded at least two goals in the last five games and only scored in one of them so it looks to all intents and purposes that a number of people have worked out that it is all over bar the shouting.
Therefore it seems a fairly valid thing to do for a football message board to debate the significance of almost certain relegation and the effect it will have on the club in particular given the mysterious way the ownership have set up the club involving shell and offshore companies. Add in the fact that if the deal goes ahead in full, the pAyments to Garlick and Co will amount to nearly double the net spend on players in the period since they re-gained EPL status to the takeover.
There will be exciting times ahead but possibly not the kind Alan and ALK originally envisaged.

Gutted and worried as I am I still don’t agree “relegation almost confirmed”, and certainly that is not going to be the atmosphere from the stands, or that is truely a self-fulfilling prophecy. I know no more, and probably a lot less than most posters do about club finances. But I do know one thing, there is sod all point me worrying about it.KRBFC wrote: ↑Sun Apr 10, 2022 9:10 pmThis has absolutely nothing to do with scapegoats or easy targets, fans are rightly concerned about the finances around the takeover and that's now ten fold with relegation almost confirmed this weekend. These have been unanswered questions and concerns since ALK arrived, our income being slashed imminently was always going to bring up these questions again.
American’s like to get on board with winning teams - this fits Alan Pace’s ‘everyone’s favourite underdog’ tag. Just image the bounce this escape will bring, and the publicity it will generate about the club. But that performance today will have sickened everyone with Burnley at heart, whether you’ve pumped you soul or hard cash into Burnley Football Club.

Re: Over to you Alan
It’s not just our own form which is abysmal Burnley need somebody to be significantly worse than them as it’s no longer in their hands to overtake another team. After Wednesday that team was Everton, however it’s worth pointing out that as bad as they have been, they have actually won nearly half of their home games so are likely to get six more points.
On recent form we have to score three goals to win a game. Which four teams are we likely to do that against?

So assuming both Burnley
And Norwich get relegated who do you think will do best in the Championship?

But the ownership doesn’t change with a win or a loss.
So are you ok with the ownership if we stay up but not if we go down
Re: Over to you Alan
I’m more concerned with the ownership and where it leaves us as a club if we go down, that’s for sure.Bordeauxclaret wrote: ↑Sun Apr 10, 2022 10:07 pmBut the ownership doesn’t change with a win or a loss.

maybe it's different in France, I'm amazed you aren't aware of the financial difference between survival and relegation in England though.Bordeauxclaret wrote: ↑Sun Apr 10, 2022 10:07 pmBut the ownership doesn’t change with a win or a loss.

I wasn’t one of the unlucky ones who went to Brentford, nor Norwich………………..but after those performances, and a season like we’ve had the players & the club should pay for fans travel & tickets to West Ham (no, I,m not going, booked Watford instead).
They could easily sort it by refunding ticket money, and liaising with supporters club travel (or again as part if a ticket refund add £30 towards travel).
