Why would he need a flat when he has a massive house in Hale Barnes?

I'm sure the Rovers boss can find a flat up Shadsworth, Vincent will be ok in Hale Barns.

A convenient flat (for occasional use) makes sense to me. I know Hale is not a million miles away, but it still makes sense to have a place to lay your head, locally. For example I have been applying for Universities that allow me to be based at home… but I have still been looking to make sure there are overnight stays available, should it be required to make fulfilling, so far unforeseen commitments that may occur, easier.

If Kompany beats Tomasson on this it'll leave me feeling really flat.

Before I get my coat, I used to drive through Hale Barns (did somebody call it Barnes) every day for work. I didn't live "up here" at that point, but I think it's still a slight slog of a journey, and traffic can be hit and miss on the major roads. I'm sure Kompany could draw money out of his back pocket to pay for a weekday house, even if he doesn't use it.

Steve Kean had the flat in Read above Pendlehill properties.

I can't see much benefit in getting a flat 25-30 minutes away when he has a house 35-40 minutes away?

I think footballers call it their shag pad, obviously they can’t be taking tarts back to the family home

Aye it's bobbins the traffic. I live about 2 miles away from Hale Barns, and in the morning heading up the M56 towards the M60 is a nightmare until you get past the M61 junction, then generally a breeze from there. Getting to that junction though can take longer than the rest of the journey to Burnley/Padiham.

If I drive into town in the morning, it's about 50 minutes for a 9 mile journey. Quicker getting the Met, and you have the added bonus of being able to have a pint after work should you so wish.

I used to live at one end of the A555. It used to feature on the Pointless Motorways website, but it was a link road that led from nowhere to nowhere until they finally finished it off maybe 5-10 years ago. I can imagine it's very busy now. It used to be absolutely dead when I was on it, and a joy to drive across to the A34.

Probably not an issue with the times Kompany will be driving at. If you can hit the roads by 6am or 7am, it's not too bad.

Ah yes, the 'new' A555 that is constantly flooding!

Yeah if you hit the times right you're fine. I drove to Leeds in just over an hour today, but I left at half 11.

I'm only guessing but I bet there isn't a single ounce of truth in that story.

Maybe they’re battling over Dyche’s apartment on Calderstones Park 😮
