What a fantastic interview. Very unpolished media wise which is great.little things really hit me with the interview, his desire to get to know everyone, including all, shows a lot of his character. Also when mentioning aspirations his use of the team first. Very impressed

Morning CJ!

We didn't get where we are today by leaving signings till September.
Showing your age there fatboy47. It made me laugh being in the (slightly :D ) older age group.

Burnley announced this as a four year deal this morning, they’ve now changed it to three years. You would hope the club might have got that right.

I’ll go and change it now on here.
Is it three years with the option of a fourth?

If so, maybe that's where the confusion has come from.

Really good interview that, had to check he was actually 19. Clearly knows his stuff and what he's here for. Impressive.
I was thinking the same. He comes across well and said all the right things, including the local stuff.

VK’s pulling power really seems to be helping us get these signings done early in pre-season. If the two Belgium lads and THB we are looking good to go already with only 1-2 additions needed in the next two months. Next question how good is VK at persuading our better players to give him a year in the championship assuming ALK don’t require further sales?

In that case, pretty shoddy communication from the club. Not for the first time.

Sup up your beer and collect your fags
There's despair going on down Ewood way
Get out your mat and pray to the west
I'll get out mine and pray for myself
You thought you were smart when you bought the league
But you didn't take a peep at your future demise
All the Venkys have done is put debt on your chest
What chance have you got against a claret and blue crest?

Hello-hooray, what a nice day, for the Egan-Riley, Egan-Riley
Hello-hooray, I hope the Clarets always play, with the Egan-Riley, Egan-Riley

Right, back to my presentation....

Welcome to our community, Egan-Riley! Another signing to be excited about. Wish him the best here. Here’s to his growth under the world class defender in Kompany.

Certainly reducing the average age of the squad big time
Good that's been long overdue.

...three first team appearances...alongside such as Kevin de Bruyne, Phil Foden, Raheem Sterling and Riyad Mahrez...

If he looked worth buying whilst saddled with those donkeys, just think how good he'll look alongside Ashley, J-Rod and JBG. ;)

Looks a good signing. I’m finding it hard to get used to this transfer window. Deadline day could be really boring!
Well for Burnley fans it has been that way for years. Boden is usually told to stand down hours before the window closes and BFC prepare the twice yearly "happy with the group of players we have" press release....

That's why we have kept Bashley, Jay and Jack. Add Westwood and JBG to that list too and you have plenty of age left

I mentioned it elsewhere but here seems appropriate. Many City fans are surprised they let him go, a few I've been speaking to reckon he was way better than Trippier was at a similar age - that'll do !

Did they offer him a contract?

Anyone know?

When you have a bottomless pit of money like City there's not much risk really.

Not been officially said that City offered him a new deal, but the fact we’ve agreed a compensation fee with them means they did offer him a contract (on at least the same money he was already on). Compensation fees aren’t required if a club releases a player without offering a new contract.

When Jimmy Dunne left last year we received a compensation fee from QPR because we’d offered him a new contract.

MEN reckon City have a 30% sell on fee, also said he was City's U23 captain which I did not know

Yes, otherwise he'd have been able to sign for us on a free transfer.

It references that he captained their under-23s in the article linked at the top of this thread.
