our goal last night
it would have probably been ruled out in the Prem by VAR due to Brownhill being in an offside position and impeding the view of their keeper.

VAR would’ve ruled out our goal, and not given us a pen. I didn’t see the Taylor incident.

Are we going to get one of these stupid threads every game? It's like someone has access to alternate universe or something.
Let me tune into my fictional var-verse. The goal would have stood and we'd also have a penalty.

Re: our goal last night
Surely we’d have had a pen and they’d have a red card, Barnes was fouled when he was about to shoot? One of the best things for me last night was being able to celebrate a live goal without waiting for that bag of shite VAR to decide if it counts!!

Yes I was surprised that the Huddersfield lad wasn’t booked for the swing at Taylor, the referee probably couldn’t see it.

Re: our goal last night
If there had been VAR, we'd have had a pen after ten minutes, and Huddersfield could well have been down to nine men by the end

Not having VAR is brilliant.
Not wondering if you should celebrate a goal or not and nowt like a good moan about the ref mistakes.

VAR is great...
..when you get to celebrate the same goal twice!
Re: our goal last night
It's refreshing having the standard of refereeing just being 'a bit sh*t' rather than plain biased.

Re: our goal last night
We wouldn’t have had the pen, which the incident deserved, because VAR would have spotted Ash was offside when he made his run.
How Thomas got away with kicking Taylor deliberately and then later blasting the ball at his head I’ll never know.

The double foul on the touchline should have been red in my opinion.Tricky Trevor wrote: ↑Sat Jul 30, 2022 10:14 amWe wouldn’t have had the pen, which the incident deserved, because VAR would have spotted Ash was offside when he made his run.
