Re: Today's Football
There was a hand-wringing on here that we'd "missed out" on these two.
Genuine question (as I know nothing about them): would they have fitted in with our system last night and been an improvement on our new signings?

I was one of them. Hold my hands up tonight and say I think we made the right decision.TheFamilyCat wrote: ↑Sat Jul 30, 2022 6:57 pmThere was a hand-wringing on here that we'd "missed out" on these two.

Re: Today's Football
Grinds my gears why Salah would grab the ball and go and stand on the spot to be confronted by Ederson. I’d get as far away as possible and tell the ref, “I’m taking it get him on his line and I’ll come forward”.
Re: Today's Football
Swift looks like he’d be great in one of the number 10 roles that Brownhill and Bastien occupy. Would he have been a better signing than Bastien? Very hard to say, but Swift is proven at this level already.TheFamilyCat wrote: ↑Sat Jul 30, 2022 6:57 pmThere was a hand-wringing on here that we'd "missed out" on these two.

Wallace is a wide player so wouldn’t automatically appear to fit the system, but in that surprise role Costelloe took up last night, Wallace would have been great there. Not sure if using a player in that role is a long term thing for us though.
Based on last night though, I’d trust Kompany to coach anyone of decent standard to fit the system.

Re: Today's Football
What they showed was hardly worth watching.
I hope there are better highlights on the club site via Clarets+ for those who haven't seen the game,
Or maybe Youtube.

Re: Today's Football
Dean Ashton seems to think Burnley won the Championship in 2013

I think ITV 4 need to get their pundits to do a bit more preparation
