I've decided I'm related to Johnny Depp - I'll tell you how we are related. It's quite complicated, bear with me..My daughter's grandad's sister's grandaughter DIDN'T get pushed down the stairs by Johnny Depp.....therefore I'm kind of related to him by proxy

My uncle Mark Brown was a Paralympic marathon runner. Won silver in Atlanta and bronze in Sidney.
Also won a fair few fell races alongside many able bodied road running events
Used to post on the old board before the move, not sure if he posts on here though

Well known Rawtenstall cricketer. His playing days touched 4 decades.
Maybe not stellar famous in the grand scheme of things. He is to me though.

My grandfather owned Nicholls Pickles, in Reading, which had the slogan, 'North, South, East and West, Nicholls Pickles are the best'.
The recipe was known to the family (10 children) but none wanted to continue, so it ended in the 1960s. Very wide distribution, in the South, until then.
Also owned fish and chip shops, which were carried on by 3 of the children. Not so famous!

Didn't know your Uncle but new Winston Place who is mentioned in the article, as I grew up on Queens Square in the 60s and used to visit his shop. Winston had a daughter who I still see out and about she must now be in her 80s and was and still is a very attractive Lady
