Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
With Haaland flying how about a loan move for Julian Alvarez? Pure fantasy but city link, may need a loan to get up to speed to the English leagues and would certainly be unexpected

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
Denayer really would be some signing, but I'd be very surprised. It wouldn't do his international career any good.
Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
Denayer is being courted by Villa and Fulham, no doubt various overseas clubs as well. He will be able to obtain a large signing on fee and wage. However you can but hope.
Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
Speaking of Twine, where is the guy on here who claimed to be "in the know" and Twine would be sold within this transfer window with the excuse the player couldn't settle in the north west.
The injury did make me wonder lol.

Could be a left-field signing (to clarify). No link but he’s clearly available and needs to kick start his career.

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
He might have been told that but no doubt he will be one of our highest paid players and with their seemingly not too much money floating about I think most clubs would struggle to afford himcolne-claret wrote: ↑Sun Aug 28, 2022 8:47 amBeen told by a decent source that Ashley Barnes has been told that he can leave and that we are looking at 5+ players still. Not sure if we are looking at signing that many players or if it’s just different options for the same positions etc.

Interesting you've heard about 5+ players because I've also heard we're expecting to make several signings before the window closes.colne-claret wrote: ↑Sun Aug 28, 2022 8:47 amBeen told by a decent source that Ashley Barnes has been told that he can leave and that we are looking at 5+ players still. Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
Does anyone know if there's any purchase clause in Tella's loan contract?
Would be a real shame to integrate him into this team, have him bag plenty of goal, help us get us up only for Southampton to take him back.
They're not blessed with an abundance of talent up front, Che Adams is their best striker but he'll go if a decent offer comes in. A good promotion season with us and you could see Tella getting into their first team squad.

There are lots of comments I’ve disagreed with over the years. Not all of them are consistently from the same poster, or posters, although a few do irritate me more than others.Lancasterclaret wrote: ↑Sun Aug 28, 2022 8:34 amI do find it surprising that people haven't blocked one or both of them tbh
If you are (like me!) incapable of ignoring stuff that annoys you, then the best way really is to mute them
I've muted one, but not the other
I’ve muted no-one. I understand why people may do so, butI think that if the worst I have to contend with in this parlous world is views I disagree with on an opinion board I choose to read, then I’m a lucky man.

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
We have... I just think that VK reportedly still wants a no 10, Barkley's career has now completely stalled and maybe a run of games in a team with a set up such as ours at a lower level would be appealing to him. Obviously it would have to be heavily subsidised by Chelsea but I don't think it's a crazy suggestion.
Another left-field player that VK used to play with would be someone like Stevan Jovetic.
Or maybe we could go for someone like Riis at PNE who has been linked to Middlesboro but is currently only a sub for a team who cannot score goals.
Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
no, not crazy, but in my case being very hopeful, certainly to me would be the unexpected given our history of discussing this.

Riis apparently unhappy at PNE - manager keeps calling him out publicly and he isn’t getting starts even for an team that can’t score for toffee. Lot of their supporters say he’s a funny player who can look completely out of a game but is clinical.

Not Burnley per se, but West Ham are signing a Brazilian midfielder from Lyon for big bucks, so that should hopefully end any interest they might still have in Brownhill.

no, signed a new 5 year deal at Saints in Jan 2022 - this is very much a loan with no real prospect of us making it permanentCombatClaret wrote: ↑Sun Aug 28, 2022 12:17 pmDoes anyone know if there's any purchase clause in Tella's loan contract?

Hello, I am the guy who broke the news that Twine will be sold this window.
I can confirm I was talking a load of old shite in an attempt to take the p1ss. I’m sure he’ll be adding yet another stellar option to our forward line in the coming weeks.

Don’t think he’d be one to relieve Barnes of his duties on the bench. Maybe one to develop but we need someone to challenge the first team here and now

Apparently the lad has a terrible attitude, and isn’t very good to add to that. Villa only brought him in to try to keep his brother happy - who is now at chelsea

Not a great record for a striker, according to Wikipedia page, 1 goal in about 30 appearances.
