Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
Just cannot see us forking out anything like the sums mentioned yesterday for Obafemi.
We haven’t done it all summer and I can’t imagine we’ll panic tomorrow and spend north of £5m on a player.

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
Looking on their forum, they reckon a fee of £5-6m would get him. The reported £10m that was being seen yesterday sounds like it might be way off. A fee in the £5-6m region is possibly doable for us if the structure is less up front.

I asked the same question recently and was informed he is definitely in the know.
Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
For once I'm not worried if we don't sign any more players. Unlike previous windows when we've all been desperate to see a final day signing. I think we can challenge for promotion with what we have.
Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
If Jay gets injured and we have to play Barnes up top for a large chunk of this season, I’d say it rules out autos

Surely if we’re all now expecting Obafemi it’s no longer unexpected so there’s no point expecting it. Of course then he’ll be unexpected, so it could still happen.

You can’t have sell-on clauses when you release a 16 year old.

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
Not quite Ric as he chipped in 4 goals in the first promotion and was injured for the large part of the second one. However 40 EPL goals propelled Burnley to seventh place and kept us in the Division for six seasons.
He has had two very serious long term injuries and has shown the courage and determination to battle back from both.
For £400 k and circa nine seasons of service he has been a brilliant signings. Let’s hope some of VK’s work out as well.
As I have said before it will be a very sad day indeed when Basher leaves the club.

He may have done well over the years, but is isn’t doing well now and hasn’t for a long time. No room for sentiment.davideyresleftear wrote: ↑Wed Aug 31, 2022 7:59 pmPretty cr*ppy attitude toward a player who’s played well for us for years. Not really his fault that he’s going through a perfectly normal age-related decline

I’d love us to get a marquee striker like Obafemi in to go with all of the wingers/attacking midfielders we’ve got. Obafemi looks like he has some great attributes to me. Absolutely rapid and strong centre forward.

I reported yours and other posts because the thread was at risk of going off on a tangent with personal insults and that’s probably the reason it was removed.gandhisflipflop wrote: ↑Wed Aug 31, 2022 9:03 pmRemoving comments is childish. Anyway back to transfer news.

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
We are certainly still looking for a striker and centre half, I think that we will have left offers on the table with clubs who have rebuffed us so far, and if they decide to budge then we will make it happen, if not then so be it
Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
Jason O'Conner just tweeted the following:
Burnley have made a second improved offer for Michael Obafemi
New offer closer to Swansea valuation! Tomorrow will be interesting…

I wouldn’t be going about 4-5mil had seemed to be the limit we will spend on one player all summer, he’s not the player to play the jay rod role, the lad from Brentford or Callum Robinson more suited to that role
