The people who served on that ship would have grown up with a conception of war being a thing fought on horseback. Can't comprehend how much the world changed in just a few years during that period.

Its actually in only slightly better repair than the Moskva

They have been crowd funding for years to repair her, and I think this is the final stage of the repairs when she gets to Drydock

This reminded me of a quiz question I once had. Who, for a brief period in 1989, commanded the sixth largest navy in the world. The answer, surprisingly, was Pepsi, but I’ll leave you to Google it to find out the whys and the wherefores.
