Family/friends who support other teams

I know it's hard to believe but there are many other clubs apart from Burnley, so do you have any family or other acquaintances who have the gall to follow another team.

Living in Glasgow it won't shock you that many of my family follow Celtic or Rangers, however some of them also have the misfortune to be long suffering Partick Thistle fans, other members of the family claim to support Arsenal and Fulham, but I have my doubts.

Regarding work colleagues, there is Aberdeen and Dumbarton fans among them.

So the question is do you have any kin or kith who pledge their loyalty to other clubs, either as well as the Clarets, or who have the audacity to follow that club alone.

Living in Rishton, I have quite a few who support the team playing at Deadwood.

Got a few Man Utd supporting mates. Brother supports Liverpool. Got a mate who supports Hull.

I've lived around the UK for 50 years (since leaving Burnley) and most of the friends I've picked up along the way support other teams (usually local to their birth place).
My only son supports Nottingham Forest (he was born in that city - though left when very young).
Worse that that- he supports Wales when there's a Wales v England rugby International (he lived in south Wales during his formative years when I worked there).
Most mates are happy to meet for a beer before/after games if there's an us v them fixture but one mate (QPR) wont contemplate meeting before or after the game when our teams meet.

Living in Rishton, I have quite a few who support the team playing at Deadwood.

Similar ish, being from the Ribble Valley (RV) and going to schools in Clitheroe, unfortunately more of them lot than Clarets as mates. Half my family supports them too, thank goodness my old man is a Claret and was able to lead me the right way!

A partner of a friend at work is a Deadwood fan, a few weeks ago it was all laughing at me for Burnley being awful (they were above us at the time) but I saw him Friday before the West Brom game and his tactics had changed to laughing at Burnley's support ("the only reason you get 18,000+ at home is because no one ever leaves Burnley").

I mean a Deadwood fan laughing at Burnley's support? He was saying "You took 4,500 to Wigan and we're all going mental about it, it's only half hour down the road".

Next week is Wigan v Blackburn, Saturday 3pm kick off, so it will be interesting to see how many they take.

Very fortunate that all my family and extended family are Clarets. Really good friends are Clarets, a couple of mates are rovers fans but we get on OK (ish).

All on my missus side are Clarets (that's how I started supporting Burnley) - they still live in the area.

I'm a native Mancunian but never supported UTD or City. Most of my family/friends do however.

Both my girls follow Manure.
The eldest was at Salford Uni and lived over. Back then they were training at the Cliffe which was neighbouring. They used to go over just to ogle Beckham. She then worked match day at OT for over 20years in the restaurants and private boxes. Clarets are her other team and she usually accompanies me when I’m over.
The other tagged along with a gang she got in with at Accy college and became a fanatic. Her and her hubby have had season tix for over 10 years living in Ireland.

Friends about 50/50 Burnley, Rovers. United. Liverpool (from her side), Motherwell, Spurs, Millwall, Arsenal, Wet Spam andd Leyton orient (from my time in London).

Most of the Rovers fans became friends after realising while I buy into the rivalry, I despise the bigotry adopted by many against our local rivals (as do they) - I also have family members who support Rovers and strangely Liverpool fans who just refuse to speak to me past “Want a drink?” At family functions… I lose no sleep over such ignorance as its ripe in every walk of life these days.

My son lives at Nunthorpe so he updates me regularly about many of his Boro friends continually moaning. At his wedding his future father in law whilst giving his speech presented my son with a Boro shirt, I’ll let you guess what happened to the shirt

Have colleagues who are boro fans and it’s fair to say they hate us after dyche and joey fergied karanka. Same with a Plymouth chap I knew - never forgave us for Johnny Francis smashing them and cookey sending them down.

My family never really followed football me and my Brother are both Burnley fans though. I have 4 sons 1 who lives in Burnley from a previous relationship supports Liverpool my youngest also supports Liverpool (following his Nephew and friends online) the other 2 are Burnley. Girlfriends family are all Newcastle although her Brother has a step son who is Sunderland.

I have friends from all over the country (22 years in the Army) too many teams too mention really but mainly Burnley, Blackburn, Bolton, Preston, Blackpool, Carlisle (Lancashire and Cumbrian regiment. Also Liverpool, both Manchester Clubs and a few of the London 1’s (Palace, Arsenal, Spurs and Chelsea)

Lived in south west London for over 3 decades. Yes, of course, many friends who support other clubs. Travelled to Brentford last season with Brentford supporting friend - he's from Liverpool and also remains a L'pool fan. He also bought lunch. Similar, travelled with friends who support West Ham and gone to West Ham pubs before and after games with them. A lot of the walking football group I'm now with are Chelsea fans. I'm playing in a walking football tournament in Walton-on-Thames organised by Chelsea Community Foundation later this week. I'm told there's another Burnley fan who plays there sometimes. Meet up regularly with a ManU season ticket holder - though we've not yet been to a game together.

I went to school in Blackburn. I knew pretty early on that there are other clubs and fans that support other clubs. When we played at Ewood I would often meet with my Blackburn supporting mates after a game.

Bit more complicated than that with the (most recent) Liverpool family members; other family members work for LFC and due to other family member connections I tend to know more about their glory days than they do, from the horses mouths. I never voice opinions on their clubs, but they know I can shoot the down when they play Billy Big at the Dingle (for a time Roy Evens was family and my Auntie taught Kenny Dalgish’s kids) so I’ve met a lot of their ‘legends’ over the years).
