The Enclosure RIP

I've sad news to report this morning that David Barker - The Enclosure on this message board - has sadly passed away.

He emailed me recently to tell me he had been struggling to get on the Turf because of health problems. He'd successfully fought prostate cancer a while ago but he'd been diagnosed with lung cancer which, at the time, he said was operable. I've had an email from his son Paul today who told me the cancer had spread and he went downhill rapidly.

I met David a few years ago shopping in Tesco and often saw him there and we always had a chat when I saw him on the Turf. He was one of the posters who kindly offered to help me during the lockdown, something I'll never forget.

Such sad news and my thoughts are with his son Paul, his family and friends.

Although I didn’t know him personally, his username is one which I distinctly remember, almost to the point that you feel like you do know them.

I am very sad to hear this. I didn't know The Enclosure but we did have a little rapport on here and chatted quite often. He seemed such a lovely person that I ended up calling him 'thelovelyenclosure'. My sincere thoughts are with his loved ones.
