So how you getting to deadwood ?
Heard there’s no trains and hiring a minibus will be almost impossible so does that mean it’s still £10 coach by proxy or will we see a huge convoy of cars ?

Well I wouldn’t plan on it being a Saturday afternoon 3pm kick off like the fixture list says, probably be moved to the Sunday. Why won’t there be trains?

Ideally, I'll make my own way there after a few beers in my local in Burnley, however I feel the rules will all change for the away leg of the fixture and we will be put on coaches.
I won't be going drinking in Blackburn, not because I fear for my safety as such, but because the police won't allow it and will take you straight to the ground or send you back, I'd imagine

Am I understanding this correctly, train strikes are being held on the weekend of 18th/19th March 2023?SmudgetheClaret wrote: ↑Thu Oct 27, 2022 8:40 amHeard there’s no trains and hiring a minibus will be almost impossible so does that mean it’s still £10 coach by proxy or will we see a huge convoy of cars ?![]()
Have they planned strikes and given dates already 5 months in advance?

I believe that he thinks we are away on the 13th and in eagerness to post something forgot to do any checking.

Go in the car. Park on junction 4 services. 25 min walk to the ground. Don’t wear a scarf on the walk. Simples.

Re: So how you getting to deadwood ?
Maybe Smudge will be stood outside Ewood on 13th wondering where the hell everybody is
or has got some extra sensory power advising the trains won't be running in March 2023

Re: So how you getting to deadwood ?
If I drive I'll park on yhe school near the pub I think it is called Darwen Vale they do match day parking according to a friend who is a bstatards fan, we will probably meet there and walk down but I won't wear colours just because some idiot would still spit/hit/swear at even older guys and I have a short fuse, if I go by coach I'll go with one of the supporters clubs.
Re: So how you getting to deadwood ?
The last time I went was to the FA Cup replay where Micah Hyde scored.
Drove from Macclesfield and just parked up nearby. However once we got out of the ground, we were marched by police all the way to the train station. So I had to then walk back from the train station to my car. I actually explained to them that I'd driven, and at one point we pretty much walked past my car on the way, but they didn't let me just get in it. Ridiculous

Ha ha, happened to me in Wrexham. I was parked next to the ground but had a nice trip to the station and back.Ric_C wrote: ↑Thu Oct 27, 2022 12:49 pmThe last time I went was to the FA Cup replay where Micah Hyde scored.

We did win 6-2 however.

On foot, bare-chested and painted claret and blue from the waist up. Basically channelling Mel Gibson in Braveheart .

I'll be going in a convoy of 1970's coaches, just like everybody else.

Re: So how you getting to deadwood ?
It is but it’s not expensive to pay. It’s not far to walk though, I work on there when I’m in and have done it occasionally. It’s a good way on match day to make sure your car is safe and beat the traffic
