Bought a house for £2000
Yes, you read that right. Just bought myself a brand new 4 bed house for £2000 in the Metaverse.
There's some real bargains out there if you know where to look. But do act quickly because the best neighbourhoods are getting snapped up quickly.
Good luck bargain hunters!

But whereas Earth is Earth in reality, there's surely going to be lots of different Metaverses - unlimited space.

No, there's only one Metaverse and space is actually very limited.
Can't wait to start decorating the place and getting it looking homely.

You can mock all you like guys but who'll be laughing when I have a virtual HD definition TV?
If I pay the new mortgage off quick enough I might be able to save up and buy a virtual Tesla.

No, I'm a responsible metaverse property owner.
I have vowed to use the space for responsible, ethical virtual practices only.

Not sure what will collapse sooner, twitter, or the Metaverse.

Remember ol' Rowls when you can only afford a Metaverse bedsit. Rowls got in early and owns a 4 bedroom house on Berners-Lee Avenue.ŽižkovClaret wrote: ↑Fri Nov 04, 2022 4:35 pmNot sure what will collapse sooner, twitter, or the Metaverse.

Billions being spent in metaverse land grab
Nearly $2bn (£1.75bn) has been spent on virtual land in the past 12 months, as people and companies race to get a foothold in the metaverse, research shows.
But we are years away from the metaverse emerging as a single immersive space online where people can live, work and play in virtual reality. So is the land grab one big gamble?

I know there's a lot of cynicism out there but for the amount of time I'm going to spend in the Metaverse this is an absolute bargain!

I know someone that bought a watch for £4000, in fact many of us do, so when you put it like that….
Re: Bought a house for £2000
How do you spend £2000 in the Metaverse ... is it a "virtual £2000" or is it "actual £2000" if so who do you send the "£2000" too ...
Do you use a "Virtual Bank of Dave"
Do you use a "Virtual Bank of Dave"

Look guys, the fact is that I've snapped up a place which is the equivalent of virtually 1000 square metres.
You can't buy that kind of space in the real world. Bargain.

Re: Bought a house for £2000
If he gets bored with his "Virtual TV" in his "Virtual House" he can go up the "Virtual Pub" and watch his "Avatar" drink "Virtual Beer" spending more "Real Money" doing stuff that you can't "Actually Really Do"
Seems a tad odd to me
Re: Bought a house for £2000
If his Avatar dies do they get a MetaHearse in the Metaverse

Re: Bought a house for £2000
There's a lot of people sniping from the sidelines on here (clearly jealous of my financial acumen and virtual house).
So to prove that it exists, here are a few photographs I've taken inside:

Those gits keeps breaking into my property but it's OK because in the Metaverse everybody has the right to bear virtual arms and they're easy enough to kill off.
Just look at the room I've got guys! Look at that space I've got for virtually nothing!!!
Once I've made some more virtual money I plan to share it out among those who didn't doubt me. I'm going to be the guy who put the virtue into virtual. Up yours, doubters!

"Respawning" - whatevs. I just wish they'd get out of my house dd.distortiondave wrote: ↑Fri Nov 04, 2022 7:04 pmIt's called respawning in the virtual world.
Wolfenstein was ace, though. Almost as good as Doom.
What's Wolfenstein though? Does it have anything to do with my new house?

Re: Bought a house for £2000
Thank you Aclaret. You'll most certainly get an invite to the house warming.
All new houses have teething problems. I'm sure the invading Germans get be dealt with along with the other snagging tasks (low resolution, no ceilings etc) around the house.

I can only tell you what I know: I was assured it was a new build and I've christened it "Honeysuckle Cottage". I've put a plaque up so it's non-negotiable.distortiondave wrote: ↑Fri Nov 04, 2022 7:13 pmThe 'photographs [you've] taken inside' are inside Castle Wolfenstein.

Maybe the uninvited Germans are mistaking my new home for this "Castle Wolfenstein" of which you speak but I can assure you it is a new build home, specifically for first time buyers and it's name is Honeysuckle Cottage.
I'm hoping the Germans have disappeared before my Mum comes round to visit. It would be awful if I have to slay half an army as I'm showing her to the guest bedroom.

For 2k it must be on the outskirts of Burnley. Can you still walk to Turf Moor?

I can sit on the dead Germans but only temporarily.
As dd has pointed out, they keep "sesponding" to come back to life. If you keep your eyes on them they stay dead but the second you look away...
