Who do we want in round 4?
Well someone has to start the thread, and yes I'm quite aware there is games tomorrow.
Looking at winnable ties Charlton, Gillingham, Lincoln (I know) and MK Dons all progressed tonight.

Gillingham. It’s a fixture I grew up with and I always have a weird soft spot for them on account of it being us v them for promotion on that final day in 2000.
They don’t have Carl Asaba and Iffy Onoura to fear anymore either.

Any of those 4 at home please.
Likely to be 11 prem teams through as I can’t see Derby, Wednesday or them getting through but stranger things have happened.

Re: Who do we want in round 4?
We definitely don't want that lot from along the M65 that's for sure, although as you say West Ham should field a strong side tomorrow evening and send them packing, this is a trophy somebody like West Ham will fancy a lengthy run in I'd wager.Hibsclaret wrote: ↑Tue Nov 08, 2022 10:25 pmAny of those 4 at home please.

Gillingham at home is the dream draw.
Wouldn’t mind Bournemouth at home to see how we compare to a lower Prem side now though.

We owe Lincoln one after our pathetic display in the FA cup game a few years ago.

Re: Who do we want in round 4?
There’ll barely be a player left from either side that played in the Lincoln Fa cup match and for certain we have a rather more possession based style for them to counteract. Would be a great draw.

Is that because you would be going to Southampton, would it be a new ground for you when watching Burnley away?

JBG was never the same after that Lincoln game. He was absolutely targeted and taken out. No thanks. Also, I don't like their nickname.

Interesting that if Rovers lose tomorrow we will be the only Championship club left.
3 league one sides left (plus Wednesday and Derby who play tomorrow) and one from league 2.

Bob Taylor scored 5 in 1 game against us, not to be confused with the ex WBA striker Bob Taylor.

I saw Bob Taylor not long after he joined City and I know it was July before pre season but the timber he put on I couldn't believe it was him.

Re: Who do we want in round 4?
A lower league team would be ideal. I think our style of play this year means we're less likely to struggle against them compared to previous years.
I'd be interested to see how we fare against a lower prem side, such as Wolves, Brighton, Bournemouth. Hoping Chelsea knock out City tonight.
It'd be nice to have a cup run.

I was on a freebie at Watford in hospitality and Andy Hessenthaler was sat out injured. I ended up sat with him outside and he's a really nice feller, not at all like his onfield personality.

I’d like City. For no other reason than I’d love to see the reception for VK from City fans. A City mate of mine reckons he’d get an absolutely mental reception because they still love him there.
In terms of progressing though I’d just like the worst team left in it…at home.

Plenty of beatable sides left in the draw.
Maybe even enough to get an easyish draw in the next draw if it works out.
