England starting eleven at the next world cup
Just for a bit of fun. Who do you think will be starting at the next World Cup?
Ramsdale
Trent, White, Stones, Mitchell
Rice, Chukwuemeka, Bellingham
Saka, Rashford, Foden

Tomori in central defence. Maybe Fabio Carvalho.

Re: England starting eleven at the next world cup
I see no reason why Kane wouldn’t start, he’s only 29 now. Ben White’s position in the squad is now questionable given the apparent reason for his departure from Qatar.
If Taylor Harwood-Bellis continues on his current trajectory, and given he’s the u21 captain, I think he could very well be on that team sheet!

Southgate's chums...another collection of over-rated, over-inflated, under-delivering, trumped up egos...that will again be found out as soon as we play a proper team.

I think Skipp is a good player and Cole Palmer could turn out to be really good.

James is better than TAA.
Phillips will still be around.
Henderson will push Ramsdale

Only reason I think TAA will start is purely because I think he’s too good going forward to leave out.Tricky Trevor wrote: ↑Mon Dec 12, 2022 6:52 amJames is better than TAA.

It’ll be a difficult call but TAA is still poor defensively. James is good both ways.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 12, 2022 7:12 amOnly reason I think TAA will start is purely because I think he’s too good going forward to leave out.

Re: England starting eleven at the next world cup
Every chance Harwood-Bellis is at least in the squad in four years time. The level he is playing at for 20 years old is really impressive, and already captain of Englands U21’s. If he keeps progressing, be that with us or elsewhere, I think he’s more than capable.

I think his chances of starting in 4 years are probably somewhere near zero.jedi_master wrote: ↑Mon Dec 12, 2022 8:20 amEvery chance Harwood-Bellis is at least in the squad in four years time. There’s plenty of players ahead of him. He might make the squad but I think that’s probably stretch for the next World Cup. Potentially the euros after.

Go on then. Who? Remember it needs to be someone very comfortable on the ball.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 12, 2022 9:45 amI think his chances of starting in 4 years are probably somewhere near zero.

Maguire, Stones, Tomori, Geuhi, White, T Chalobah, Konsa, Killman, Gomez to name a few that are miles ahead in the pecking order.summitclaret wrote: ↑Mon Dec 12, 2022 10:15 amGo on then. Who? Remember it needs to be someone very comfortable on the ball.

Only because they are currently in the PL.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 12, 2022 10:32 amMaguire, Stones, Tomori, Geuhi, White, T Chalobah, Konsa, Killman, Gomez to name a few that are miles ahead in the pecking order.
Think the point is ‘if’ THB continues to develop (next year he will definitely be in the PL, hopefully with us) then he has a fair chance. His ball playing ability gives him that chance as it is (as England need ball playing defenders), then it’s a case of can his defending mature in the PL. 4 years is ample time to do that.

Re: England starting eleven at the next world cup
I just don’t think it will be enough time for him to develop enough to oust them players. There’s 8 or 9 players that are currently ahead of him. He’s going to have reach an incredible level to beat them out.RVclaret wrote: ↑Mon Dec 12, 2022 10:34 amOnly because they are currently in the PL.
