I've been critical of Muric this season so it's only fair I give credit where it's due, two saves that have kept us level this half, he'll he massive in the next 45 so hopefully keeps it up.

We've been poor this half really, struggled to get hold of the ball and transition through midfield to up-front. Zaroruy on for Churlinov at half time with Rodriguez and Tella coming on after. Most importantly the midfield needs changing back to its normal dynamic.

Stoke should be winning. They have been the more effective side.

But we have got better.

Churlinov and Brownhill haven’t really affected the game yet. One of them probably needs swapping out in the second half.

Benson has looked sharp as always
Only had one chance from a rebound on a set piece Tbf. Been a game of few chances. Not sure our new system tonight has worked and we might see VK make a tweak 2nd half.

The only real bright spot has been that Benson is continuing to look like a Belgian Messi. I cannot believe he plays for us.

Think Churlinov would do best if he got a 2nd half at home against a team we were dominating,Stoke play a bit like Burnley (2017–2022) not is sort of game.

Ref needs to get a grip to stop from them turning a football game into something more akin to egg-chasing!
It is my genuine hope that the way Stoke play becomes a thing of the past belonging in a Museum!
Argue every decision, kick everything that moves, anti-football s**t is not what I pay my money to watch!

Taylor for Maatsen anyone? Thought we needed Taylor against Sheff Utd and this is a similar game although will Stoke fade second half when Maatsen could come into his own ?

If the Churlinov choice was an experiment, it hasn't worked.
Presumably Zaroury not quite match fit, he did tire a bit against Birmingham.
We have to bring these fringe players on at times like this.

They won't keep up their running and chasing us down in the second half, that's when we might hit them. We aren't doing a lot around their box, perhaps bring attacking subs after 15 mins. The referee is embarassingly poor.

I'm really, really not picking on him, but Barnes for Jayrod really doesn't help us one bit. Other changes I don't have an issue with, but this one seriously weakens us in these games and makes it too easy to defend against us (imo)

Horrible 45 mins Ryan Shawcross on commentary asked if the ref had reffed before !! Also said our 2 yellows were rediculous. We are being bullied and ref is helping no end but we are nowhere need our norm. Long way to go

Interesting one isn’t it. He’s not been particularly bad but we don’t play with anywhere near as much control with him.

Remember the Sunderland game. They couldn’t press us for 90 minutes.

If Stoke haven’t scored at the hour mark I’d back us to win and score at least two.

We didn’t win possession much in their half while they did it a few times in ours. Unlike us. Needs to change.

They have a few guys on thin ice. Three have at least 2 fouls, including Soutar. If we get a few on a yellow they’ll find it tough when we run at them.

I think that is why he isn't getting a lot of game time. Kompany is trying to ease him in as when he came on as sub he was badly fouled twice.
