For a number of years, up to very recently, I have returned from the match and slumped in the chair. Pouring a whisky and cursing like Father Jack at all and sundry about the a certain player, a manager or match official. This behaviour calmed the wife knowing it was perfectly natural for a Burnley fan and helped with the outpouring of life stresses.
However she is now very concerned. When a return for the game I pour the whisky and sit in silence for an hour or so with a broad grin on my face. Not a grumble or a whinge.
She thinks I’m ill!

I have an almost Zen like calm watching Burnley now compared to the gut wrenching nerves at the start of the season as we learned how to play out from the back. Its like going to theatre to watch a Shakespeare play you know the script and the ending but you just want to appreciate the quality of the actors and hope for a few twists in the story before the inevitable ending.

Easy for me as it is a an afternoon kickoff here, so I'll just sit and watch, he's in the good books because he's booked a meal out early evening All is well in the world, well my little world at least, while it was Super Bowl here yesterday, as is our tradition went out for brunch with family and friends, got home in the evening. Even him falling asleep on the sofa after a few minutes didn't disturb me at all, these wins just keep making full weekends very pleasant indeed, my grandchildren had their first ever trip to the Turf Saturday as part of the youngest's birthday weekend, they thoroughly enjoyed it.
