Re: Match thread - Luton v Burnley
Somebody take the whistle away from the referee at half time.

We need to notch it up too.Claretmisterg wrote: ↑Sat Feb 18, 2023 3:35 pmIf we stick to what we’re good at they will tire and we will take advantage.

Re: Match thread - Luton v Burnley
Barnsey needs to get on his game every move breaking down as soon as he gets involved. Need him back on his recent form.
Re: Match thread - Luton v Burnley
Massive chance for them. Had to score.
Re: Match thread - Luton v Burnley
Should be losing. Not seen us this bad in a while.
Re: Match thread - Luton v Burnley
They should have scored then

Re: Match thread - Luton v Burnley
We are not sharp, but Luton's pressing is not giving us any time to control possession. We have gotten some pockets of space in their half but haven't been able to make the passes.
Re: Match thread - Luton v Burnley
Dont like Gudmundsson outwide at all, we've been really poor so far, barely got our foot on the ball.

They are a typical old school ‘orrible championship side! Nowt wrong with that, very much what we used to be like.

Another **** whistle happy referee
Re: Match thread - Luton v Burnley
Yep, pitch + whistle happy ref + Luton’s press making it very difficult for us to playTaffy on the wing wrote: ↑Sat Feb 18, 2023 3:43 pmPitch looks dry and bouncy.......affecting our control?
Re: Match thread - Luton v Burnley
Can they keep it up for 90 minutes though.
Re: Match thread - Luton v Burnley
We've got Barnes playing deeper behind Tella and JBG ?
Re: Match thread - Luton v Burnley
Kicking off at Everton. McNeil being restrained by a Steward apparently.
Re: Match thread - Luton v Burnley
Tactical change is needed at half-time.
Re: Match thread - Luton v Burnley
They were big and strong in the first match, going to be tough

We need Zaroury's pace. JBG and Barnes are too slow up front.

Get to half time, regroup and hopefully exploit their first half exertions in the second half.

Re: Match thread - Luton v Burnley
Twice the ref tells Doughty to retreat to take a throw-in. When he throws it in again he reverses the throw and gives it to us. Should happen more often.
Re: Match thread - Luton v Burnley
What a clear dive!

Vincent’s got his work cut out at HT.
Re: Match thread - Luton v Burnley
Well Luton are certainly not a footballing side.
Re: Match thread - Luton v Burnley
So poor
Tella and Zaroury out wide and get Barnes up the middle

Re: Match thread - Luton v Burnley
The space is behind the full-backs, get Zaroury and Tella wide, like against Preston.
Re: Match thread - Luton v Burnley
Tough half. Combination of the team selection (no width without Zaroury/Benson), driest pitch I’ve ever seen and Luton’s intense press. Defended well enough in the main aside from that one big chance.

Re: Match thread - Luton v Burnley
Happy to be level at the break, as expected Luton have made it difficult, however they'll struggle to maintain this press for 90 minutes, and we have plenty of options off the bench to trouble them as they tire.

Re: Match thread - Luton v Burnley
That was very poor. Luton pressing making it a stop start game and another shite referee AGAIN. Need to up the ante in the 2nd half
Re: Match thread - Luton v Burnley
Three games with teams that are similar. Watford, Luton and Millwall. We should be getting used to it now.

Re: Match thread - Luton v Burnley
Missing Zaroury and it might not be a popular opinion on here but despite some of hos recent good play to many moves slow down or break down with Barnes and we are just not as fluid with him coming deep as we are with Jay.
Id have Zaroury for JBG and Obifemi for Barnes. That said Luton are executing their gameplan very well and one goal could definitely nick this

Slow. Poor ball control. No width. Not sure what position JBG is playing. Like a poor D2 game. Sunk to their level

Re: Match thread - Luton v Burnley
Tella having one of those quiet games. He's had them before and turned it round.
Glad to get to the break all square. Not sure which changes I'd make but as things stand, Barnes and Tella could both be replaced. A risk when we don't really know what we've got with Obafemi and Foster (if he's on the bench). Expect Zaroury at some stage.
Thoughts?

This. Although I think we need Barnsey’s physicality for defending set pieces.boatshed bill wrote: ↑Sat Feb 18, 2023 3:45 pmWe need Zaroury's pace. JBG and Barnes are too slow up front.

Tella looking very lightweight against their defenders
