Re: Pope
Well let's be honest it's the kind of thing Muric would do. To be fair to Nick Pope he tried a diving header and fell onto the ball. He's an outstanding keeper and everybody has a shocker at some point.Longsidelenny1882 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 18, 2023 6:00 pmIf muric had done that this board would have been in meltdown utc

Re: Pope
Just out of interest, why does he miss the League Cup Final. I thought when Cork had his ban it was only for league games and not cup games because bans were competition specific. Anyone know the reason why this is different?

Re: Pope
This is a 2nd recent incident; didn't he accidentally collide with Djenepo when heading a through ball , causing him concussion?
Judging these situations really isn't easy.

Re: Pope
Cork was suspended for 10 yellow cards and yellow cards are specific to each individual competition, in his case, the Championship.
Red cards are considered across the board and suspension is served in the next matches, regardless of which competition, therefore, he misses the Cup Final.

They've decided it is because it suits their agenda despite the lack of clear evidence

Re: Pope
It was really strange. Should have just accepted the poor clearance and not grabbed the ball. Gutted for him because he's a legend and it would be good to see him collect a medal.

Re: Pope
Did we need 3 separate threads about Pope being sent off in addition to the specific match thread where it happened?

Re: Pope
Daft decision but throughout the season he's done more good than bad & maybe not costly if the Geordies don't end up losing the final, whatever happens the toon will back him a loyal sort to a degree.hes bailed them out of the sh1t so deserves some slack.
