Re: Tonight’s plane over Ewood
Probably getting paranoid but what looked like a small charter plane flew over Burnley about half an hour ago.
A dummy run? An attempt to block further flights ?

Re: Tonight’s plane over Ewood
That light aircraft seemed to going back and forth following the line of the M65.
Headed off westwards now.
Re: Tonight’s plane over Ewood
Its a police air force aircraft from their base over Yorkshire, currently flying orbits over Blackburn

If true, let's hope for the clubs sake, the police stop it taking off.ClaretsPadiham wrote: ↑Tue Apr 25, 2023 6:25 pmYou’re just a town full of (not a nice word for Asians) is what is going round the WhatsApp groups.

Re: Tonight’s plane over Ewood
The only thing that we should lift up into the sky tonight is the championship trophy

Re: Tonight’s plane over Ewood
A few days after our club was Tweeting a communal breaking of fast, trying to encourage people of all faiths and backgrounds to be a part of our club. Marvellous.ClaretsPadiham wrote: ↑Tue Apr 25, 2023 6:25 pmYou’re just a town full of (not a nice word for Asians) is what is going round the WhatsApp groups.

If there is any truth in what is ‘going round on WhatsApp groups’, I hope that whoever is responsible (and I include those flying the plane / running the company) get dealt with properly and the ‘fans’ never get to step inside Turf Moor again.
This sort of nonsense will only harm our club.
Saying all of that - I’d be amazed if any company selling banner space on the back of a plan would agree to fly such a message and rightly so.

I really hope this, whatever this is, isn’t happening! No need to lower ourselves to these sorts of antics because we are better than that and I’m sure Vincent Kompany would agree!

You would be surprised what some companies will print on bannerDCWat wrote: ↑Tue Apr 25, 2023 6:41 pmA few days after our club was Tweeting a communal breaking of fast, trying to encourage people of all faiths and backgrounds to be a part of our club. Marvellous.

That rumour gives me heart that it’s nonsense. Can’t imagine any aircraft operator agreeing to tow such a banner.

What are these WhatsApp groups? If there’s any substance to this at all surely it needs reporting to the police.ClaretsPadiham wrote: ↑Tue Apr 25, 2023 6:25 pmYou’re just a town full of (not a nice word for Asians) is what is going round the WhatsApp groups.

Re: Tonight’s plane over Ewood
If that happens it will alienate our manager, our players and some possible future signings.
Re: Tonight’s plane over Ewood
10x worse than the Etihad if that's true. Lifetime ban, name and shame them etc. Hope there's nothing to it, hope it's just a baseless rumour. Free speech absolutists can fk right off, that kind of thing should not be flown from a plane, or plastered anywhere in public, and the plod should stop it. Pilot/business named and shamed, just ruin them all, anyone involved in it. Go full-on ancient Athenian ostracism. Hope this is just fuss over nowt.

Any plane flying this would be asking for serious trouble, and wouldn't be worth their while

Not going to happen. Loss of pilots license and that would only be the start.arise_sir_charge wrote: ↑Tue Apr 25, 2023 6:43 pmThat rumour gives me heart that it’s nonsense. Can’t imagine any aircraft operator agreeing to tow such a banner.
Re: Tonight’s plane over Ewood
Don't mind a bit of plane banter, staying down for ever blah blah blah. Bit silly, very silly actually, but gives you a chuckle, and is harmless. Just don't cross the line into BNP/EDL thoughts.

Re: Tonight’s plane over Ewood
There's more chance of me winning this evening's Euro Millions than this happening, and I haven't even bought a ticket.
Re: Tonight’s plane over Ewood
I'm just wondering how many people on this Board are actually old enough to have witnessed that at first hand.arise_sir_charge wrote: ↑Tue Apr 25, 2023 12:32 pmSurely a wind up and nobody is so sad as to copy someone else’s idea from 30 years ago.
My guess for content would be something to do with Jack Walker and Venkys which is equally as sad.
I was stood in the Longside!!
Re: Tonight’s plane over Ewood
This story about the plane is the biggest load of boll0cks I have heard, as though a pilot would fly something like that, who are these clowns spreading such crap, bored little braindeads IMHO.
Re: Tonight’s plane over Ewood
A pilot flew the one over the Etihad.

And he got banned. Lost his license.
Re: Tonight’s plane over Ewood
Please no. This would be disastrous PR for the club, town and all the proper supporters. I'm sure it's a wind up but a little bit of me just isn't sure and it's taking the edge of the game already for me.

Don't let this spoil your evening. If a plane does indeed fly over, it won't be towing a racist banner.

By the way, the air police are over Deadwood. No other aircraft will be allowed into the airspace. Just one massive windup spread by the gullible.

Good grief there are some right sandal wearing slavering loons on here.

Champions at Ewood, and no embarrassment to the club overshadowing it. This is a win-win situation!!!
