Both Josh’s have been good, but neither get much of a song
Someone put a good suggestion on here on the lines of:

Follow follow follow,
Josh Cullen’s the Irish Pirlo,
He followed big Vince,
He’s been class ever since,
He’s the best in the league and we know

Gone Beyer, but cant really remember him or Cullen having a bad game.

Funny how no one has really mentioned any of the players that were chosen by the EFL for their TOTS.

That’s because the people who deal with that don’t watch us week in, week out. They are, to all intents and purposes, clueless.

Bang on about them two ya mention. Not put a boot wrong all season. Very, very tight to choose between the two, but I eventually went for Cullen. And that DESPITE Beyer being my favourite current player.

Really tough one this, so many excellent candidates already mentioned and there's a case to be argued for all of them as POS.

For consistantly good performances over the whole season though have gone for Josh Cullen.

Special mention for Nathan Tella though who has been superb and along with Gary Cahill and David Johnson has to be up there as one of our top 3 best ever loan players.

Really hope he's here next season as a fully fledged Claret!

A real tough choice. Cullen seems to have it based on this thread and I can't complain with that. Tella's pace seemed to become more and more significant as the season progresses. Really can't decide.
A Man Utd. friend of mine from my schooldays there messaged me after seeing Manuel Benson's winner on Tuesday with 'we paid 85 million for Antony to do that for us'.

Isn't his text message missing the word "not" after Anthony there?

Benson and Zaroury - Best/most skilled players. Zaroury has become fatigued of late. Benson is amazing, proper off your seat stuff.

Roberts - immense.
Shame he held back a bit early on to ensure he was fit for the world cup, I don't begrudge that, once in a lifetime opportunity.

Cullen and Beyer - brilliant footballers and team players.

Muric - was worried at the beginning when he went through one of his own players to get the ball, remember that? Has done nothing but improve week in, week out.

Tella - highly likely to be finishing around the 20 goal mark had he not got injured.

Decisions, decisions.

For me it's between Roberts and Benson, If I can't decide over the weekend, I'll simply toss a coin.

Cullen. If your engine is not working your machine won't work, he's been the most consistent I've seen in a Burnley shirt for many years.

Beyer. You cannot win games if you cannot defend.
Plus, we want him to stay!

Only thing separating Beyer, Cullen, Benson and Tella is the mood you're in when voting. Do you go for it based on impact? Consistency? Raw talent? Goals? Some combination of all that? Seems silly to pick one out of those four because they've all had POTS seasons. Cut the trophy in four.

Benson. No, Tella. No, actually I'll go Benson.

But on the other hand we don't look the same team without Tella. But then you could also probably say that about Cullen, though he's played so much we've not seen many games without him to base that on.

Still Benson. Wouldn't look out of place in the Champions League. Poorer wingers than him have played in it.

Gone for Tella just because of what he can do across the attacking front.
Certainly missed him the last few games

Such a good season it’s difficult.
I find it hard not to choose benson. Maybe he doesn’t deserve player of the season as he’s played less and we have more important players in the system, but he’s the best entertainer I’ve ever seen at Burnley and I think he’s our best player currently and potentially our best attacking player in a very very long time.
As said, many lesser wingers have been bought by champions league clubs for tens of millions.

Josh Cullen for me. Doesn't get the glory, but the man is a machine at the heart of our defence and is Mr consistent.

Sure there have been a lot of wonderful performances from so many of the team, but not across the whole season.

There's a good case for about 6 others to win it too though and I wouldn't sulk if he didn't win it! Just don't give it to any of the loanees and inflate their value more!!

Cullen. Despite there being so many players having a great season, it’s not even a close decision for me.

Special mention for Zaroury. Most naturally gifted footballer I’ve seen at Burnley in my lifetime. Hope he can keep developing because he’s a special talent.
He's been so reluctant to go in for a tackle ......something is not right with him.
Very quiet 2nd half of season. Brilliant 1st half.

Cullen followed by Beyer & Tella in the vote.

I voted for Josh Cullen, as previously mentioned he has been so consistent. He is the vital cog in the midfield to make our team what it is.......CHAMPIONS !

It's interesting that people look at different things in players. I voted Brownhill, it was between him, Tella and Roberts for me.
Brownhill wins my vote through his impact in games, not only has he been integral to our attack, but his engine has also offered us so much off the ball compared to other players. Winning the ball high up the pitch with our press has really suited Brownhill well.

Cullen has been an excellent water carrier, reads the game well and sets the pace nicely but doesn't win enough challenges for a defensive midfielder in my opinion.

Really is a tough one because this is a team that after an up down start became an incredible unit.
Tella- goal machine who I think ends up as a striker.
Zaroury - was a strong contender until January but has been stop start since.
Cullen- rarely has an off day, makes everything tick, but I'd say is rarely the gamewinnner himself. A proper players player of the season but perhaps not fans POTS.
Beyer- took a couple games to settle but is a monster of a player now, breathtaking at times. But plays his best alongside Ekdal who I think is as crucial as Cullen to making the team click, we were so dominant in all 9 games with him.
Benson- Game winner multiple times, the ultimate super sub, but feels strange to pick him given his limited match time compared to the others.

Really is a tough call between all 5. Can I pick Kompany for finding them?

I went for Beyer but still don’t know if I’ve made the correct choice.

It’s usually a pretty straightforward decision. This year, I could have been blindfolded and whichever name I hit with a dart, it’d have been a decent choice.

What a year!

I managed to go to the first game (& only live game) with my two sons when we played Luton, Benson came on and I said afterwards in several places and obviously to my two son's, Benson is going to be a fans favorite, and so it's turned out I believe!

Yet as the season has unfolded there a quite a few names in my book that are in the running for this, with the already mentioned Muric being an outsider, I do enjoy watching good defensive performances and was totally spoilt under SD with Ben being my favorite player! When they left I thought we'd really struggle to fill that void, how wrong was I as Beckenbeyer has become my favorite in the team, plus I think Roberts has had a very good season.

And yet, when I look at this and consider everything, like many I have voted for the quiet/efficient one, I think it's close but Josh Cullen gets my vote :)

So many options - a bit like the whole season!

Beyer has impressed me.

Tella for his match winning goals, got my vote.
