EFL League Three
Is it time for the Conference to be upgraded to League status? Most if not all the clubs are professional now, and with the growing gulf between Premier League and lower leagues, it'll benefit the clubs as gives a perceived higher status. I don't know if it's possible though
The quality of the clubs is better than ever in terms of business with some established clubs in football terms there now.
I can't see the point in having a national league separate from the football league, so would it not be better as one group?
On a separate note, I’d rebrand the Championship as Division Two and have the Conference as Division Five. I've always felt the Championship was a stupid name.

Re: EFL League Three
The gap has gone. Clearly needs 2up, 2down with an argument to be made for NL playoffs to include 22nd in Div2 for a third promotion place.

That could happen next seasonTricky Trevor wrote: ↑Sun Apr 30, 2023 1:41 pmThe gap has gone. Clearly needs 2up, 2down with an argument to be made for NL playoffs to include 22nd in Div2 for a third promotion place.
creating a 4th EFL tier is more complex though as National League is a separate business and the EFL has enough problems distributing its revenues as it it is - current split is 80:12:8 between the 3 divisions and all will tell you they need more not less

Re: EFL League Three
This seasons play offs see Notts County and Chesterfield sit out whilst the next 4 play to play them. All ties are 1 leg this season.
At the bottom end 4 former league clubs will drop to tier 6.
Re: EFL League Three
Its not that long (really in the greater scheme of things) that Yeovil and Scunny were in tier 2 The Championship ... now into 6th tier ...

Re: EFL League Three
Remember the 2-1 at Yeovil when we last won the league? About 9000 on I think. Used to work there and go on when Gary Johnson was taking them up through the leagues in late '90s. Always been a big club for the non-league scene.

They are also 35/36 points ahead Boreham Wood & Bromley, one of whom they will play in the semi final so aren’t even guaranteed to be in the final either.Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Mon May 01, 2023 4:38 pm107 points and not promoted is a joke, it needs changing

I go on Chesterfield a few games a season (father in law and Wife are season ticket holders) and they had just over 9k on Saturday. Tough league to get out of with only one up automatically.

Re: EFL League Three
We had 3rd Div North and 3rd Div South to allow less travelling then we got Div3 and Div 4 with Carlisle playing Plymouth
Recently there have been discussions again about regionalism in the leagues
It is real issue about how Lower league games are run
