Vincent (King) Kompany,,,,,

Post by BurnleyMickSouth » Wed Apr 26, 2023 11:55 am

This man is a genius, i have never listened to a man that is so articulate and tells you how it is, no tall stories, no going around the houses, words such as " framework" and the "group" what utter rubbish that was from Dyche, same words used in numerous tv interviews, but what was it all about ?, yes i admire him for everything he did for us as it stood, but the last two seasons the football was dire, i live 250 miles away and attended just three matches at the Turf in that time, and iv supported them since the mid sixties but id had enough, now in retrospect i have travelled to Burnley on nine occasions this season as the football is that good, if a player is injured he tells you whats wrong with the player, no going round the houses as i have already said, i am off to Bristol on Sat, then four days in Burnley for the Cardiff match i cant wait to see us lift the Championship Trophy, the man is a football genius, and long may it continue, i think it will be a top seven finnish next season and then europe, who knows in Vincent we trust and all his coaching staff as well, even the gates have swelled up the footy is that good......

Dyche's choice of words was appropriate for the time, the squad he was working with and the job they had to do to survive.
Times have changed but our admiration and thanks for what the bloke contributed to BFC shouldn't.

No wonder, he's doing the same job, trying to keep a struggling team up against the odds.

Things did go stale in Dyche's last year or two , but please let's not use Kompany's astonishing season as a stick to beat SD with. What he achieved for us was just incredible .

Love this quote from his interview after the match last night.

"There's two awards you win this season which is promotion and the league, then there's two more trophies to win which are your derbies, and we've won all four this season. I know what it means and I don't know if the players realise it yet but I know what those games have meant for me in my career."

He also didn't mention the fifth award, VK winning champioship manager of the season. What a fantastic guy to have in charge and what a fantastic time to be a Burnley supporter.

He’s not even a fat Sam level manager

I’ll sup a nip of the finest single malt when he gets another Relegation though.

Kompany is levels above Dyche in every area of professional football and it’s insulting that he should be mentioned in the same breath.

The footy was mostly shite under Dyche in the PL but we'd be moping about the bottom of the Champ/fannying about for promotion from League One if he didn't do what he did for us. So yeah, my passion disappeared a bit, too, like a lot of other Burnley fans, but we wouldn't have had this moment without everything he built here. Every moment is built on the moment that preceded it.

I actually don't get this beating Dyche / Kompany is king malarchy. Literally comparing two different managers, who have different outlooks, resources, budgets, experiences, etc.

Dyche did absolute wonders for us with the resources he had and bar 18 /24 months out of a nearly 10 year reign, he brought heights to BFC that would have been absolutely unachievable by anyone else. What he gave to our club is beyond doubt legend status.

Kompany has done things differently and reaped huge success, but don't for a second think that will last forever. He could be swipped by Christmas and we could be back to another manager playing 442 and relegation scrap just like the last few years.

The Dyche moaners might be crying out for his name at that point.

Sean Dyche put this club on the map. Gis fellow professionals admire his management quality and his miracles, time after time.

It was not fault that the club had no scouting system for Europe.

Anyone who doesn't understand the magnitude of his legacy must be pretty stupid.

Pardon my ignorance, but where am i badmouthing Dyche, the answer is i am not, all i am saying is that in the last two years he was in charge the football was dire, i and like most proberly quite a few others decided i did not want to travel on a 500 mile round trip to watch what was on offer, yes he did a fantastic job, and but for him doing what he his hands were tied by Mr Moneybags Garlick,it had run its course and now that Sean has gone, look at what we have been left with, a fantastic team, a great manager, Vincent and the Chairman Mr Pace have both done a fantastic job so please let it continue a 7th place finnish next season i would not be surprised at that to be honest.

Congratulations to all at Burnley fc ENGLISH FOOTBALL LEAGUE CHAMPIONS.

It's not unbelievable though is it from this guy.
He has a deep seated dislike for Sean Dyche (maybe shunned him when he asked for his autograph on his school satchel?)
I am loving this season and am very excited for the future but, as of today, Sean Dyche has a far more impressive CV than Vincent Kompany.
We probably have him for another year at most, so let's enjoy the ride without feeling the need to have a go at a guy who got us up (twice) and then kept us up and achieved 2 top ten finishes.

The OP reads like he's at his wedding day with a new smoking hot bride on his arm, slying flicking the V to his ex-wife, who doesn't really care, and trying to rub it in their face how amazing the new one is.I just don't get it. It's such a great day to be a claret at this moment, why don't you enjoy it to?

Just remember, If that new hot wife continues to be sought after property, she probably won't be on your arm in 12 months time...

VK has done a brilliant job and given us all a fantastic season to lift our spirits. I hope he will continue to wave his magic wand over the proceedings at Turf Moor for as long as possible.

Dyche’s achievements over a lot longer period are greatly appreciated by most of the club’s supporters.

Let’s enjoy this next few weeks and have a celebratory drink or two as we look forward to being presented with the Championship trophy at the Cardiff match and move onto eagerly anticipating the challenge of Premier League football in our town once again. UTC

It was a random analogy pal, I'm not actually calling out you or your family. The comparison is rhetorical.

In summary - The old thing was rubbish, the new thing is brilliant, then in the not so distant future, the we might end up back with the old thing again and you might be eating your words.

Enjoy the moment, no point comparing it to a previous time

Since the Orient game, we've been blessed with good managers, each one building on the achievements of the previous. We continue moving forward, an amazing feat.

Dyche was unable to fix the problem of a lack of goals scored at Burnley and we were relegated along with the other 2 lowest scoring teams.
He has now moved to Everton who find themselves sitting in the bottom 3 along with the other 2 lowest scoring teams.
He is probably using the same type of language because he finds himself in a similar situation.
When he moved to Everton I pointed out that unless he could rectify the lack of goals scored then he would struggle to maintain Everton’s PL status.

Even I think that is harsh, I have not been Dyche's number 1 fan due to his tactics and favouritism, but I am very impressed by his
ability to keep us in the PL on such limited resources and with his demented recruitment policy. He needs to be remembered, not revered, for being the manager who allowed us to watch PL football at Turf Moor.
Our current manager will not be here in September and the new manager, Jesse Marsch will return us to the championship next year. I can see Dyche returning to be manager in the summer of 25.

Without Dyche, there would have been no Kompany.

Dyche is using the same phrases at Everton
He is but he’d use the same stock phrases wherever he went, it made me chuckle reading a post on GOT about gravelly waffle - shape & feel.

Sean Dyche put this club on the map. Gis fellow professionals admire his management quality and his miracles, time after time.

It was not fault that the club had no scouting system for Europe.

Anyone who doesn't understand the magnitude of his legacy must be pretty stupid.
Exactly Ian, but time moves on unfortunately but what he did for Burnley should never be forgotten .

He worked miracles. No doubt.

I blame the previous owners for not giving him money to spend.
It was ‘smart price’ football on a ‘smartprice’ budget - while, what seemed to me, MG fattened the clubs bank account to subsequently line his own pockets.

Some people tolerated the the brand of football, whilst winning.
But like anything, if you have to put up with something you dont like for an extended period of time, tolerate will turn to dislike.

Looking at his press conferences, I think he forgot who the paying customer was. They were patronising, with absolutley no information; he had nothing but utter contempt for the media and in turn, I feel, some of the bond was lost with the fans. As far as I’m concerned, he couldn’t be arsed. With them or us. Of course, when its a fan in his face - he’d be different. But that’s one fan.

He shouldnt be forgotten. It was his players we essentially sold for £70m, that bought this seasons team.

But forgive fans for having an emotion about what was put on the pitch and what came out of his mouth. For lengthy periods of time - it was shoite.

VK is breath of fresh air and speaks to media like its a fan asking the question - how it should be.

So, thanks SD for all you did. But dont let the door hit you on the way out.

It’s entirely hypothetical, of course, as it will never happen, but I suspect if VK stayed on for 10 years, we’d become tired and bored with the language he uses in press conferences etc, too.

Dyche never took them seriously and neither did the press because they knew nothing much had changed from the previous game (team sheet, tactics).

They just turned in a way for him to make a really dry joke that may or may not get him some publicity and when you're threatened with relegation it's not what you want to be hearing.

I accept that this will be a slightly skewed point, but I wonder if the Man City fans are getting ‘bored’ of Pep yet.

Im sure we all know the answer.
