Is that the one Ben Mee played for Leicester in?

I can't get over just how bad Leicester were in a "must not lose" game

Re: Tonight’s Football
Too many unmotivated players who are either out-of-contract at the end of the season or who know they will easily find employment at another Premier League, or high ranking international, Club. Going down for sure now I think. A shame as I was hoping for an Everton relegation but think its now between Leeds and Forest along with Southampton and Leicester. Everton's final home game v On-the beach Bournemouth feels like a definite three points for them.

We had a fair few of those in our last relegation season to be fair, Norwich away springs to mind.Lancasterclaret wrote: ↑Mon May 15, 2023 10:51 pmI can't get over just how bad Leicester were in a "must not lose" game

Re: Tonight’s Football
Re Leicester’s finances the owners recently converted £194 million debt into equity as they did previously in 2013 (£100m)
Apparently this was accrued largely to cover the costs of their new £200 million training facility.

Re: Tonight’s Football
Everton maybe safe after their next game but if it goes to Bournemouth don’t rule out a Cherries win. Pragmatically they may want rid of Everton rather than Forest or Leeds, the latter two being weaker next season as AFCB start their “2nd season syndrome”.
I agree though it doesn’t look good for Leicester. Like us last season their goal difference doesn’t indicate a relegation side but I can’t see them getting 4 points and they will need them.

got rid of too many experienced players, selling Schmeical was a massive moment for themStalbansclaret wrote: ↑Mon May 15, 2023 11:04 pmToo many unmotivated players who are either out-of-contract at the end of the season or who know they will easily find employment at another Premier League, or high ranking international, Club. I was going to post the same. Very similar to us last season. A few knowing they were seeing out a year, a few out of form and the “we are in it together” seemed to disappear.Stalbansclaret wrote: ↑Mon May 15, 2023 11:04 pmToo many unmotivated players who are either out-of-contract at the end of the season or who know they will easily find employment at another Premier League, or high ranking international, Club. Leicester haven’t half missed Kasper Schmeichel.
Re: Tonight’s Football
I agree with Vegasclaret, not supporting your own side, leaving before the end when you are not winning does not make you a true supporter. Like many on here I would never leave before the game was over, win or not.
Re: Tonight’s Football
Leeds may be much stronger, if they avoid relegation. Their takeover is likely to happen which probably means a big uplift in spending. Don’t stay up and the takeover could be up in the air.CrosspoolClarets wrote: ↑Mon May 15, 2023 11:25 pmEverton maybe safe after their next game but if it goes to Bournemouth don’t rule out a Cherries win. Leicester are a prime example that no matter how much success a team can have (winning the PL, FA Cup, Charity Shield, playing Champions league football in just a few seasons) that unless you are one of the biggest clubs then you're not guaranteed safety each season.
Shows how difficult it is for teams to get a foothold in the Premier league regardless of what you've won.

Re: Tonight’s Football
Went last night-Leicester were awful, and but for the Liverpool fans the atmosphere would have disappeared after 25 minutes. Too many big named players who are surely moving on in June, and they appeared not to be connected or engaged with the game-Tilemans, Maddison to mention a few. I have seen Forest, Leeds, Everton really fighting to survive in the last month or so. Its just not there with Leicester-almost a resignation they are down by the players. Leicester cannot survive now, and have as big a rebuilding job as we did a year ago, if not bigger. They have simply not planned in the last two years. Like us vital they make the right manager choice, but I genuinely believe that manager will not get the level of support Vinnie has had.I understand that like us there is a wage drop for players if relegated-their good players still under contract like Castagne, Faux, Barnes, will want away

Leicester never been the same since they lost Drinkwater
Re: Tonight’s Football
They absolutely had a foothold but stood still for a season or two - that's what you cannot do in the Premier League.Spijed wrote: ↑Tue May 16, 2023 7:26 amLeicester are a prime example that no matter how much success a team can have (winning the PL, FA Cup, Charity Shield, playing Champions league football in just a few seasons) that unless you are one of the biggest clubs then you're not guaranteed safety each season.

Re: Tonight’s Football
Agreed-the PL moves on at a frantic rate. Just look at the players this season's relegation threated teams have-Everton, Forest, Leicester, Leeds, even Saints. Compare this to last years Watford & Norwich, plus ourselves. Just pleased we are not in the Championship next year as the top 6 teams will be stronger

Along with inexplicably appointing Dean Smith. That was their Brian Laws moment, but there was more logic in us appointing Laws and we were desperate given the circumstances.Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Mon May 15, 2023 11:30 pmgot rid of too many experienced players, selling Schmeical was a massive moment for them
They should never have got rid of Rogers if Smith was the only option.

Re: Tonight’s Football
Can still see it being Leeds to go.
If they dont win at West Ham this weekend, they'll have to beat Spurs at home last game. Two draws will see them down, i reckon.
Spurs terrible though. Incredibly tight, GD could easily decide on the last day.
As someone already said, looks like Leicester have thrown in the towel.
