Chelsea
Chelsea
Man Utd apparently pulled out of the Mount deal as Chelsea want £3m more than the third offer. What is it with Chelsea wanting silly money for players. Utd might be waiting it out and hoping Chelsea have to drop the price nearer the end of the window but they might have signed someone else by then. It was the same with Maatsen. £20m for someone who has only played in the Championship so we walked away. If they want money for potential they could charge less and put extras in the deal. They could end up with a lot of unhappy players who's value is dropping, if nobody else comes in for them.

Kante and Koulibaly gone as well, plus further outgoings via Aubameyang, Pulisic, Ziyech, Gallagher, Loftus-Cheek, Azpilequeta, Mendy, Cucurella, Broja, Hudson-Odoi and Lukaku.Woodleyclaret wrote: ↑Sat Jun 24, 2023 11:29 pmSome serious problems with morale at Chelsea

Re: Chelsea
Have you seen the size of their squad?
The more pressing question is how they are managing to get decent fees and convenient transfers for a good number of their fringe players, particularly from clubs in Saudi

Re: Chelsea
As far as I’m concerned, Chelsea are one of the clubs that represent all that’s wrong with football. They think that they deserve to be a top six club able to bend the rules to suit themselves. Never liked them since the days of “Chopper” Harris.

Re: Chelsea
When you consider Mac Allister went to Liverpool for a rumoured £35m, it looks an absolute bargain considering what Chelsea are purported to be asking for Mount.

Re: Chelsea
Chelsea need to balance the books this summer quite simply, so they’ll squeeze as much as they can out of every transfer
The Saudis will pay whatever to get as many recognised stars as they can and again Chelsea need the money.
They overspent last summer, handed out large contracts and ended up with a lopsided squad.

Re: Chelsea
I think he’s exactly right for Manchester United. He’s quick in transition, and can carry the ball behind lines effectively with a dribble.
He will thrive with the pace of Rashford and Anthony. They need a power CF and they’re almost ready for title contenders.
Re: Chelsea
Nah. He's not right for Man United. And he's not a centre forward.Cooclaret wrote: ↑Sun Jun 25, 2023 7:54 amI think he’s exactly right for Manchester United. He’s quick in transition, and can carry the ball behind lines effectively with a dribble.

Re: Chelsea
Mason mount is nowhere near the level Man Utd require. Chelsea are doing them a favour.
Re: Chelsea
Mount is a very good player and he'd be a good fit at Man United but it's hard to see how they could be title contenders next season given how good City are. They'd need several brilliant signings including Mbappe but I think the slowness of the takeover might be a problem for them.

My initial thoughts. Chelsea can replace him.gandhisflipflop wrote: ↑Sun Jun 25, 2023 8:51 amMason mount is nowhere near the level Man Utd require. Chelsea are doing them a favour.

Re: Chelsea
How did they manage to get £65m for Kai Havertz !!! No wonder they think Mount is worth similar. Horrible club with a ridiculously bloated squad which no doubt Pochetino is now trying to trim to some kind of sensible level. Holding out for big money for Maatsen just increases my level of loathing for them.

It has been reported that PIF who own Newcastle has bought several Saudi Arabia clubs, so the clubs in Saudi Arabia have the fees and presuming no FFP rules.Swizzlestick wrote: ↑Sun Jun 25, 2023 2:34 amHave you seen the size of their squad?

Plus PIF have an investment in Clearlake Capital. the private equity firm who co-own Chelsea, all very dodgy.

Really overpriced, he is a very good player but not elite.

Re: Chelsea
All clubs in the Saudi League were government owned - the ownership of these four clubs has been transferred to the PiF, it is hoped in the future that outside investors will come in and buy a minority stake - like we have seen with City Football Group and like Qatar are trying to do with PSG - it is important that the minority stakeholder brings additional expertise to the table rather than just moneyclaretburns wrote: ↑Sun Jun 25, 2023 11:05 amIt has been reported that PIF who own Newcastle has bought several Saudi Arabia clubs, so the clubs in Saudi Arabia have the fees and presuming no FFP rules.
