For the first home game 2 years ago, 3000 didn't turn up and Alan Pace wanted staff to ring up every single ST holder, to ask why.Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Mon Aug 21, 2023 10:06 pmit's interesting that in the interview Turfcast did with the Russell Ball he rolled his eyes as to why 1000 people who had tickets didn't turn up for the City game, he wasn't impressed.

Re: Home games pretty much sold out
It seems a bit odd that the club haven't advertised more widely the fact that season ticket holders can now sell back their seats for individual games if they can't attend.
I know a few who weren't aware of this option.
Surely a mass email to all season ticket holders wouldn't go amiss announcing this option.

Agreed, the club should be really broadbasting it. Being able to sell back tickets is a big win win, and leads to a better atmosphere. The Club gets more revenue, more walk ons can attend and maybe even experience sitting in a decent seat, esepcially those who can only commit to games at the last minute, and the season ticket holder gets something back too. So why was the uptake poor for the Man City game?Rick_Muller wrote: ↑Tue Aug 22, 2023 9:43 amThey did... e-mail on the 4th August from the club... and it has been mentioned in many other mails and online on the club website

The scandal is that we know there are people wanting to attend and yet known absentees forget to offer their ticket for resale.

Re: Home games pretty much sold out
I have no idea but if you ask me to make an educated guess I think some supporters dont read their email; some supporters think its too much hassle for a few quid back; some supporters wont like someone else sitting in "their" seat; some supporters probably read this forum and get their advice from posts on here with false info... just a few possibilities there, but I cant speak for all and there will be other reasons.
Re: Home games pretty much sold out
Not really a scandal.
It’s just a new scene that will take a little bit of time to get off the ground.
Summer holidays, entertaining the kids, going away/coming back from holiday, I’m sure the last thing I would be thinking about is recycling my season ticket.
It will work in time.

I badly want to source a ticket for a friend for the Liverpool game on Boxing Day…. How will I ever know if ST holders have returned their seats for that game ? Do I just have to keep checking availability for that game in the usual place on the website ?

Think that’s pretty much what people need to do for every game now. Not sure on the new return scheme how far in advance you can sell it back and then when you do when the club make it available for re sale.Stalbansclaret wrote: ↑Tue Aug 22, 2023 10:21 amI badly want to source a ticket for a friend for the Liverpool game on Boxing Day…. There’s also the traditional methods of asking friends and family and even posting on here which has worked for other people in the past.

I too want two tickets for the Liverpool game for family that are visiting for Christmas. Just going to check the website every now and then between now and then. But I have noticed a few tickets come up for the Villa game this weekend that was previously sold out I think? Might be that a few more come up closer to the time when people have an idea of whether or not they will be attending.

Re: Home games pretty much sold out
My Dad had no idea about the ticket exchange. He reads the club's tweets, I think he looks at the articles on here, he will certainly have got the email but I doubt he'd bother opening an email telling him his season ticket is on the way to see if there was any other info in it. We couldn't go to the City game and he did use it after I'd told him but it's not a scandal, it just hasn't been that well publicised.
They could have pushed it harder on socials, could have put a little info pack in when they posted out the tickets etc. But then again I don't really think it's a big deal if a season ticket holder decides to miss a match. We pay for the seat, we don't sign up for an obligation.

will probably appear online nearer the time once people know they cant attend as they are visiting in-laws not to mention the game may be moved for TV too
