Post by claretwardy88 » Tue Aug 29, 2023 12:54 pm

Hi all finally received my jj watt hat and the postman apologised for the condition. What would you do with this? Burnley FC? Royal mail?

Do you really want your address on show?

I apologise for offending you claretinleeds, not everyone is aware of protocols with things like this, I was wondering if any one knew if the quicker resolution would be to contact burnleyfc or the royal mail that's all.

I'd still contact the club. It's their responsibility to ensure it reaches you in a suitable condition (I.e. well packaged, suitable courier) and they'll probably replace it for you,
or offer a refund. I'm speaking as the owner of an ecommerce business here. We'd then claim off the courier ourselves.

You should not have to wait for a personal claim against RM to be settled before you can get a replacement.

Guessing nothing to do with the Club, claim against Royal Mail as they suggest

Contact the club first as they'll need to make a claim. Long time ago but I worked for royal mail and its better the sender does the legwork as they have the required details. Also, it's likely the club use a business account in which case they have to sort it out.

It will be quicker going to the club in the first instance. RM will lost likely just tell you to contact them anyway

No problem, I'd hope nothing.

You never know who/what is lurking and looking.

I once attended an internet security/safety course and was left truly shocked at what I saw.

It makes me a lot more careful about sharing too many details.

You won't get another one of them, they have sold out in that colour now.

Whack it on Twatex/Twitface/X whatever it is this week and tag JJ himself - I’m sure he’d get it sorted

Had this conversation yesterday with my daughter. She was chiding me about giving out my address willy nilly. I told her it wasn't that long ago that everyone's name address AND phone number was printed in a book and distributed free to everyone else. And no one batted an eye.

Shouldn't have even been delivered, they acknowledged it was a piece of sh*t by putting the note in with it. Should have contacted you saying not fit to ship and will contact vendor. But too many people can't be ar*ed to return stuff so they get away with it.

O/T but what makes them a JJ Watt hat? Are they not just caps with a BFC badge on the front?

And then we had the internet, someone's address can be much more useful these days

I’ll look out for it once it’s sorted, living nearby! Played a bit of local league football at Childe Okeford over the years!

All the profits go to the community kitchen, JJ Watt wants to support local Burnley charities so designed a few hats to sell. He does loads of this in the US

There are far more than you would think. Double figures in Sherborne alone, more in Yeovil, Milborne Port …..

Lovely! Do you travel to any games? We may need to make a Dorset Clarets supporters group!
