O'Shea doesn't make the bench what does that tell us?
Very poor reading the game last time out

We’ll need strength in depth throughout the season. Last couple of seasons in the prem we were knackered if we got a few injuries. Paper thin squad

VK has said on several occasions that selection is based on who shows best in training.

Thought Al Dakhil looked even worse but he's still in. Don't think we can draw much conclusions from this line up tbh.

No way you're going to buy 7 wingers to then play Gudmondsson all season.

It is the same every Monday Night Football. A sizeable portion of the show is devoted to some action from the weekend just gone or a feature on a particular team. Burnley v Nottingham Forest doesn’t require a 45 minute preview so there is some content for the neutral.

My gut says:

A midfield-2 makes me nervous, especially if Brownhill is a holding CM, because he's never as good there as he is behind the front line, so gotta hope JBG is playing in centre midfield-3 in a 4-3-3, and not out wide, leaving Brownhill and Cullen alone covering the middle of the pitch.

Did not see the Taylor selection coming (I imagine Taylor has been banging the manager's door down to get a game, probably justifiably, but still...I'm surprised)

If the line-up graphic is correct, it's weird AF to play three-quarters of your defence out of their natural positions, so gotta hope this is an incorrect graphic, because otherwise Kompany is playing some ballsy 4D chess.

Forest are by far the weakest of the PL games we've played this season, so I think we're going to look much better tonight.

COME ON BURNLEY

No problem with it being neutral but show some ´action’ not possession stats and percentages of percentages.

Still weaker than Villa, City and Spurs though, Goalposts. Definitely more representative of the average PL team.

PL referees are a farce.
VAR is a shield for them, takes the blame off their bad or biased decisions and has everyone focused on VAR as if it's some mythical abstract AI rather than the same circle of tossers just sat at a monitor.
European leagues manage VAR.
Other sports manage VAR.
Some leagues and sports even mic up the refs, time was that refs actually had to give interviews too.
But nah, that's all deemed to be questioning their peerless integrity and competence. PL Refs are brill, it's everything else- VAR, the rules of the game, the ball, the time of day, the weather in Kathmandu that's the problem.

Edit: Then we give posssession away cheaply. A little nervy after my post!

Looking iffy on our right. Roberts being swamped and JBG not helping out. Not helped by constantly giving the ball away.
