JDRobbo has posted on X (Twitter) to run or walk a #mileforLyle to raise awareness as fitness can support mental wellbeing.AGENT_CLARET wrote: ↑Fri Nov 10, 2023 5:41 amThe club could sell South Africa flags in the club shop and we could show our support on the ground for Lyle Foster, all proceeds could go to one of the mental health charities like http://www.mind.org.uk/ and the media coverage would be a good way of getting this terrible lonely condition in the public eye more
That's just the sort of thing that could gain legs. CT is this something the site could promote?

That is a great idea and typical of JDRobbo's kindness.
Just looked on twitter and one Claret has posted this:
This morning I ran @Burnleyparkrun
for a #MileforLyle to help raise awareness of #mentalhealth and in support of @BurnleyOfficial
’s Lyle Foster
Lyle does a lot of work for charity. He's obviously a good person. He more than deserves our support.

Re: Lyle Foster illness
Is the plan to meet a mile away from the ground before the next home game and walk down on mass? Big group would be a good show of support and would also hopefully have the effect of fans being 'up and about' at the start of the game

I think you are correct in your assessment. My mental health has plagued me for probably most of my life but it has only been in recent years that it has come to the fore. A cruel, debilitating nightmare at times. I genuinely wish Lyle an improvement in his battle with this demon.TheFamilyCat wrote: ↑Sat Nov 11, 2023 5:30 pmIs mental illness something that can be "recovered" from? In my experience it is always there, managed rather than cured and likely to have instances of deterioration.

Re: Lyle Foster illness
Hi everyone,
This is an important topic and I’ve cleared a lot of the comments up from today.
No warnings have been issued or bans handed out… it’s something we need to talk about, and it’s
something that people are still very much in the process of learning about… Where mental health and mental health or disability discrimination is concerned.
I apologise if I have deleted any messages that you deemed to have been away from the spat that was taking place.
It just felt necessary to go back to where the messages were this morning and continue from there.
I hope that is okay with everyone and that we can move on from here

Same here Silky, age is no ally when it comes to mental stability, as I'm finding more frequently year on year.Silkyskills1 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 11, 2023 6:12 pmI think you are correct in your assessment. Re: Lyle Foster illness
Up to the age of 10/11 I was a genuinely carefree happy young lad. That all changed soon afterwards and the next few years were a living nightmare down to a 'family situation'. Never really recovered from it and so have had to deal with it on a daily basis for the last 50 years or more. I'm still here but you literally don't know what the next day has in store. Again, best wishes to Lyle and anyone else suffering similarly.boatshed bill wrote: ↑Sat Nov 11, 2023 7:05 pmSame here Silky, age is no ally when it comes to mental stability, as I'm finding more frequently year on year.
