Unlucky from JBG there, fancy him to score those chances on his left foot.

Got to score there
Re: Match thread. Brighton away.
5 clearances from Trafford everyone to a Brighton player.

Started well - Brownhill and Berge in particular.
Traff’s long ball leaving a lot to be desired

Re: Match thread. Brighton away.
Not so sure why Trafford is rated as good on the ball. Anyone can pass 10 yards and all his long ball, despite lots of time, are wildly inaccurate.
Re: Match thread. Brighton away.
Trafford takes his time with his distribution, and then it’s just an aimless punt.

Re: Match thread. Brighton away.
Anyone fancy getting behind the team rather than digging players out for every minor thing?

Bad ball from Brownhill. Caused mayhem and yellow for O'Shea. Dangerous position.

Phew, poor fk
Re: Match thread. Brighton away.
I’ve been for Muric the whole season, but Im not going to be upset with Trafford for not picking out perfect long balls.

Re: Match thread. Brighton away.
I've said about us needing to be more direct but wasn't meaning long kicks from the back. More that in the midfield and final third we need to try move the ball more towards goal and look to make things happen or get shots away rather than just be overly patient and side to side treating possession as a goal in itself.
Can't entirely understand doing the long balls without a Tella or Foster style pacy outlet to get in behind, unless the idea is for Odobert to do that

Re: Match thread. Brighton away.
Good to see James Milner still getting a start in the prem. Very good player. Hope he is crap today!

Re: Match thread. Brighton away.
I am obviously in the minority on here but I think we’ve done really well in this first 15 minutes.

Verbruggen flapped there
Re: Match thread. Brighton away.
We have got to stop giving the bloody ball away on the edge of our area!!! We have started really well, but please don’t gift them a goal from nothing…….again!

Re: Match thread. Brighton away.
The stats were in a thread earlier in the season that got deleted. Don Muric had 49% accurate long balls last year, 35% in the opponents half, Traff is 32% and 21% respectively and wasn’t much different in league one either.
Quite a significant difference.
Re: Match thread. Brighton away.
Come on Burnley, let’s not have any defensive errors this game please.
Re: Match thread. Brighton away.
Verbruugen massive flap.
I begin to doubt Mr Kompany 's eye for a keeper!

Re: Match thread. Brighton away.
I suspect the stats on how many individual errors our players have made that have led to goals this season are also significantly different to last season.CoolClaret wrote: ↑Sat Dec 09, 2023 3:19 pmThe stats were in a thread earlier in the season that got deleted. Re: Match thread. Brighton away.
I think we've been excellent so far. And although Trafford's long balls have come back, who has he got to aim at really? The one for JBG to run onto I thought was a decent effort too. And he looks more assured on when to go short and when to go long.

Re: Match thread. Brighton away.
We have done well so far, although we are threatening to have another defensive howler amongst it all.

Bournemouth beating United ffs
Re: Match thread. Brighton away.
I can just sense a defensive howler is how they get through. I hope not

Re: Match thread. Brighton away.
It’s purely about long ball accuracy. It’s an aspect of the game we miss as our build up tends to be very one dimensional.

Re: Match thread. Brighton away.
And has variables like pressure from the opposition on the player targeted by the pass, the passer, where the pass is made, whether it’s along the ground, in the air, the pace. I’m sure you know that but it will be very different in the premier league to the championship as that will be to league 1 also.CoolClaret wrote: ↑Sat Dec 09, 2023 3:26 pmIt’s purely about long ball accuracy.
