Unlucky from JBG there, fancy him to score those chances on his left foot.

5 clearances from Trafford everyone to a Brighton player.

Started well - Brownhill and Berge in particular.

Traff’s long ball leaving a lot to be desired

Not so sure why Trafford is rated as good on the ball. Anyone can pass 10 yards and all his long ball, despite lots of time, are wildly inaccurate.

Trafford takes his time with his distribution, and then it’s just an aimless punt.

That’s why we try to play it out from the back.

Invariably all long goal kicks just concede possession. Would love to know the stats on it if anyone has them.

Bad ball from Brownhill. Caused mayhem and yellow for O'Shea. Dangerous position.

I’ve been for Muric the whole season, but Im not going to be upset with Trafford for not picking out perfect long balls.

I've said about us needing to be more direct but wasn't meaning long kicks from the back. More that in the midfield and final third we need to try move the ball more towards goal and look to make things happen or get shots away rather than just be overly patient and side to side treating possession as a goal in itself.

Can't entirely understand doing the long balls without a Tella or Foster style pacy outlet to get in behind, unless the idea is for Odobert to do that

The stats were in a thread earlier in the season that got deleted. Don Muric had 49% accurate long balls last year, 35% in the opponents half, Traff is 32% and 21% respectively and wasn’t much different in league one either.

Quite a significant difference.

I suspect the stats on how many individual errors our players have made that have led to goals this season are also significantly different to last season.

Need to compare apples with apples.

I think we've been excellent so far. And although Trafford's long balls have come back, who has he got to aim at really? The one for JBG to run onto I thought was a decent effort too. And he looks more assured on when to go short and when to go long.

We have done well so far, although we are threatening to have another defensive howler amongst it all.

It’s purely about long ball accuracy. It’s an aspect of the game we miss as our build up tends to be very one dimensional.

And has variables like pressure from the opposition on the player targeted by the pass, the passer, where the pass is made, whether it’s along the ground, in the air, the pace. I’m sure you know that but it will be very different in the premier league to the championship as that will be to league 1 also.
