Man United... Trouble at t'Mill

Post by ElectroClaret » Sat Dec 09, 2023 11:22 pm

An apparently abysmal performance today , the 0-3 loss at home to Bournemouth greeted by a storm of abuse and booing today at FT.

Last Tuesday, Ten Hag banned journalists from four newspapers/ media outlets from his pre match press conference at their Carrington training ground for running stories before getting them passed by the club.

Doesn't particularly seem to have worked...

Still, never mind.

I do find it difficult to understand how, with so much appearing to go wrong at Man Utd, that they are only 3 points behind Spurs and 6 behind City.

find it mind boggling that the manager sends the same team out that probably put in their best performance of the season mid week against chelsea and probably says "same again" - the team under performs compared to mid week by about 85% and the fans say "ETH OUT" or "He's lost the dressing room" - so let me get this right United fans - on saturday they played for the fans (surely that's the bare minimum for any professional player ? at the end of away game you don't go over and clap the manager you go and clap your fans) but not for the manager ??? and they played shite.

Too many so called superstars drawing a wage and doing little to help the club and manager as they try to go forward. The press campaign against 10 egg is relentless even though they are having a reasonable season. It’s not the talent but the attitude of some players that is the problem. 10 egg took on and got rid of Ronaldo who was obviously “in charge” during his stint there. He also saw off Pogba with his shrugs and eyes to the sky if something didn’t meet his high standards. Martial, Sancho, Rashford and Anthony all have great talent but not sure they have the heart for the battle from week to week.

I think ten haig is a decent man trying to install discipline and order but the wind is against him.

They have too many non-triers. Fernandes should never have been made captain because he is not the man to rely on when things are going badly. Rashford seems to be AWOL on the pitch. Ronaldo and Pogba spread their "players are in charge and we will do what we want" attitude too far through the club.

The reason Maguire is in the team IMO is because he is a trier. You can get farther with a team of triers than with a more skilled team who can't be bothered.

Man United became so accustomed to constant success under Ferguson that it's a mentality they've never been able to shake. Look what happened with Mourinho, wins the Europa League, gets them the closest to the title since Ferguson, still potted.
Chelsea are similar, they've never adjusted to City's rise and Liverpool's renaissance.
You've got 4 clubs - City, Utd, Liverpool, Chelsea - who expect the title every year, Arsenal who expect a title challenge every year, Spurs who expect top 4 and who think every year might be the year they nick it, and now Newcastle set to join the ranks of "we deserve a trophy a year minimum".

They don't seem to realise there's more of them think they're entitled to a trophy than there are trophies to go for.
