After watching this so far, we haven't learned a single thing this season, we've spunked more money than I'm sure we'll ever see spent on a Burnley team again and haven't got any value from that.
If VK got binned tonight I wouldn't be bothered.
Unfortunately VK is not going to be binned. We have to suffer him til the end of the season and another summer of scattergun signings.

Just seen the replay at half time, no contact on the penalty at all. Pundits saying there was 'intent' so a penalty.

We’ve competed okay there against a very impressive Arsenal team. Can’t fault too much, they are just way too good. Any chance going forward and their strength / pace at the back is a joke.

More rubbish on this thread than on the Burnley side. Glad I don't normally have to read the matchday thread.

Ramsey, Amdouni and Brownhill all completely absent in the first half. It's like 8v11 out there. We just want to see some fight and some passion, we don't expect to beat sides like Arsenal but we just don't look bothered.

Question, can a manager/coach who's banned from touchline go into dressing room at half time?

Gone from a relentless, passing team that likes to have a go to a tepid, dull, fannying around at the back then aimlessly punt it bunch of individuals that sulk and look hard done to as soon as they go a goal down.

It's mental the hill that VK wants to die on.

We’ve actually not been bad out of possession. The issue is the lack of pace or movement when in possession imo

Not for me we drop into a mid low block and make it easy to get picked off.

I don’t get why we don’t press like high this season instead we sit off and allow them to play through/round us whilst we stay in a low/mid compact block yet effect nothing.

We are passive and in truth have too many passengers playing at being premier league footballers

I’d also like to see our intensity/sprint numbers it has to be down both our wide players offer nothing at all.

As for our midfield I have seen one of our players actually hide behind there forward because he doesn’t want to get on the ball in build up!

You have to laugh now. A penalty for intent when there is no touch. Any ideas whether we get a pen for exactly the same non contact incident at the other end. Incredible how they have the barefaced cheek to give us scandalous decisions week on week. There is no touch on the player and so it is not a foul ffs.

Aye they’ve not really had a clear ‘big’ chance yet, penalty aside. Off the ball shape and structure has been good. The commitment is there. They are a very emotional bunch on here, as you can see, but your input is welcome. :D

I did wonder how this conclusion has been reached by the ref and pundits. He genuinely doesn’t touch him (can tell by Assignon’s immediate reaction & obvious replays).

Funny how people see a game.

Commitment is the one thing I think is missing.

Shape isn’t too bad but they all looked like the game was over before we even kicked off. I get a “going through the motions” vibe from nearly everyone.

What happened to the ball when this "intent" took place?

I'd claim I always had the intent of taking the ball away from the attacker.

Even the most passionate fans must be struggling this season. The most un-likeable group of individuals (I can’t call them a team) I can remember since I started watching Burnley. We are getting pumped every week anyway get as many as last seasons team in the side and get a bit of passion back.

Penalty decision's a joke but this is such a non-effort performance. Soon as the first goal went in they stopped trying. O'Shea's as good as any even though our defence keeps getting opened up, and half the time through lackadaiscal play in our own third. Toothless going forwards but we don't even look like we're being dominated, that's the frustrating thing. We look like if we stepped our effort up we could have got ourselves at least with a chance of getting back into it at 1-0 but it just seemed to be a collective "Oh well that's it, 41 minutes to do some light cardio now".

we aren't good but what do you do when you give pens away for the opposition tripping themselves up ? Zero chance we get that at the other end let alone in any away game.

Looks to me as though Trossard flicked out his left foot to make contact when he was almost past defender. Then, having made the contact he takes a step then falls to the ground.

I can't see any "intent" other than trying to get a touch on the ball. Hard to see if there was any contact with the ball, maybe or maybe just misses.

It's crazy what perceptions can do.

VK is getting off so lightly by a lot of the fans, owners and the press - similar happened with Lampard.

If this was say Mark Robins or whoever there'd be so much more scrutiny.

Good finish but the defender just let him shoot. No attempt to block at all. Farcical.
