Ha ha brilliant - these are the best yet - PMSL at those. Hope others on here are laughing too - did you used to post on the original quiz in 2012 on the old clarets mad? 6 Who Am I? (7 POINTS in total) TOUGH ONE THIS WEEK
I was one of many Clarets in the 1960’s who was born in the North East of England hotbed of soccer. I arrived at Burnley with a reputration as a versatile player having been a prolific goalscorer for Northumberland Boys. I had a trial for England schoolboys playing alongside former Liverpool man Roy Evans. I was just 17 when I made my debut for Burnley in 1967 but after struggling in a 4-0 Clarets defeat I didn’t play again for another 8 months. My senior appearances were limited at Turf Moor due to the form of a veteran England international who played in the same position and I left the club in 1971 after we were relegated from the First Division having only made 13 league appearances. I played 82 games for my Roots Hall based club and then after another transfer played 78 games for my Belle Vue based club. Despite my reputation as a youth I only ever scored 1 football league goal. After my playing carrer ended I returned to the Burnley area to live and work. Despite a less than spectacular playing career I remain a well known name in the town.
6a My name …………………………………………….RAY TERNENT (3 POINTS)
6b. Who was the former England international who kept me out of the team (2 POINTS) ……………………………………… JOHN ANGUS
6c. Who is my cousin who played and scored for England in a full international (2 POINTS) RAY POINTER

Another cracker Beehole. Only got round to it today but not my best week.
Cleaned up on Q2, this is always strong for me and I don’t know why, and Q4 then only 5b,c & d.
I had long thought that Dave Thomas was from Bishop Auckland, glad to have my knowledge improved.

This was Phil Summerill a striker for Birmingham City alongside Mike Kelly and Malcolm PageRoyboyclaret wrote: ↑Tue May 07, 2024 3:59 pmQ.2b...Peter Noble, 2d...Willie Irvine.
Peter Noble was at Swindon Town with Stan Harland and Peter Downsborough.

I was checking all morning to see if others had done the quiz in their own time but gave up as I had other things to do in the evening!
Excellent feedback Royboy and you will realise I introduced the picture round in response to your request. Thanks for your contribution.

Re: Beehole's Monday night mini scrapbook quiz - 9pm Monday 6th May 2024
Thanks Tricky Trevor for excellent feedback and glad you had time to do the quiz in your own time. Obviously it’s a challenge to do the quiz on line and try to beat the others to the answer but possibly more enjoyable reading questions and considering your answers without the pressure (so to speak).Tricky Trevor wrote: ↑Tue May 07, 2024 5:27 pmAnother cracker Beehole. Just ended up reading on line articles on Dave Thomas after your comment. He was brought up in The north east (his grandfather Ticer Thomas was a player with Bishop Auckland who won the mini ‘World Cup’ in early 1900’s.)
After many years in South of England he and his wife are now back in the North East where he remains very active despite loss of his peripheral vision.
No idea why he was born in Notts.
Thanks once again for your contribution.

Re: Beehole's Monday night mini scrapbook quiz - 9pm Monday 6th May 2024
Good knowledge there sjb.
Just googled him and he was a Scot played for Hamilton Accs
His sister Isa married John Steel who also played for Burnley.
Useless information I know.
I was going to mention about his great nephew (Jimmy) being a high pitched singer with the Communards but that would be stretching the truth a bit too far I think

Brilliant interpretations of the ‘Fun points’ section of the quiz.
