Your team for Forest?...

Post by CoolClaret » Tue May 14, 2024 11:50 am

There seems to be a bit of a narrative that the Forest game is a pointless exercise; anything but for me.

It will signify who we expect to stay next season and hopefully will include a few send offs by bringing on players like Cork, Jay etc that we expect will move on next season.

Keeper will be an interesting one but honestly at this point (and I have been guilty of it) we need to channel our frustrations into positive support and keep with them and get back up next season.

It’s worth about £3m more to the club to finish above Luton.

Not sure that’s much of an incentive to the players themselves, but I’m sure “the club” wouldn’t sniff at the extra cash.

There's that but I really do believe the biggest point of interest for us (fans) it gives us a good indication on who is likely to be here next season.

Not sure any line up would be an indication of who will be here.

Considering some are claiming we are going to have a fire sale and sell anyone and anything we would possibly have to play our under 18s if this is the case.

I'd like to see us win, but at the same time I'd like to see the loan players out of the side as they clearly will not be here next season regardless of what transpires in the window, and there are question marks (imo) over the attitude of Fofana and to a lesser extent Assignon. The same applies to the out of contract ones that Kompany KNOW's are leaving. Maybe nice to get a parting goodbye to Taylor, Rodriguez and Cork (assuming they're going) but I wouldn't start them. If he's 100% signing for us then I'd start Tresor.

Muric
Vitinho O'Shea Ekdal Esteve
Berge Cullen
Odobert Gudmundsson Tresor
Foster

.........Muric

Assignon..Ekdal..Esteve..Taylor

..........Cork........Cullen
...................Berge

Benson......Rodriguez...Tresor

A mixture of sentimentality and experimental for next season whilst also being a well balanced team with the chance to win the game

-----Muric
Vitinho O’Shea Esteve Taylor
---------------Cullen Berge
JBG-------Amdouni -----JBL
----------------Foster

Not a lot of point in playing Assignon given he won't be here next season and hasnt covered himself in glory recently, and I suspect Amdouni is more likely to he here next season. But changes should be minimal - there's a game to be won and £3 million is an extra player for next season.

Muric
Vitinho O'Shea Esteve Taylor
Cullen Berge
JBG Amdouni Odobert
Jay

Not a chance VK would go with that team but it would be nice to give Jay a start in what is likely his last ever game as a Burnley player.

Muric
Vit O'Shea Esteve Taylor
JBL Cullen Berge Odobert
Foster Amdouni

100% want to see appearances from Cork and Jay Rod off the bench - but probably not starting as I would hate to see them injured and struggle to find new clubs.

Jay obviously not match fit to start, but if he's not staying next season I'd expect him to come on in the second half along with some others if it's their last game for us.

If they aren't here next season I'd sit them out, unless it's one of the old guard on his final farewell

Foster

Cork
Jay Rod

Assignon

Cork and Jay on in the 85th minute.
Benson, Brownhill on earlier.
JBL on at some point if it's his last game.

Think the club owes it to the Turf Moor faithful to pick the best 11 and give it everything, after all there is now no pressure

If Foster is playing as poorly as he has been for the last 6 or 7 games hook him off at HT for Jay. If its not going well with Amdouini bring Josh on earlier rather than later. Sub appearances to include Benson please

Oh and for my team -

Similar to RV's

----------Goalkeeper*
Vitinho-O'Shea-Ekdal-Taylor
---------Berge-Cullen
--JBL-------Amdouni----Odobert
-------------Foster

* Play whichever one is staying. Would prefer it to be Muric.

If we are planning on Trafford staying and Muric leaving I genuinely can’t see us getting promoted next season …it will be a statement to say we are happy in the championship

I can't see us getting promoted whoever is in goal.

Why?

We are the equivalent of Man City to the championship.

Highest value squad by some distance, highest wages, the most money, highest pedigree manager. We should be romping that league next season.

And we should have done much better than we did this season. They may well surprise me. I'm just a pessimist.

Definitely worth finishing 18th. What if another club suddenly had points deduction?

Is this a tongue in cheek post? I don’t think any club is likely to get a 15+ points deduction to enable us to stay up.

We really need to win this. If we lose and Luton win, they end up with 20% more points than us which is a further kick in the nuts in the way this wretched season has gone

Keeper
Vitinho
O’Shea
Esteve
Taylor
Cullen
Berge
Larsen
Tresor
Benson
Jay

Whoever the keeper is for next season .

Start Tresor if he’s staying next season, likewise Benson and Larsen.

Absolutely no other reasoning behind the Tresor thing , after all he’s done about as much as I have on the pitch this season.

Little experiment and maybe show of faith ( if possible now) to Benson.

Take Jay off for a standing ovation in the second half , if like to see the same for Cork but unlikely .

Massengo probably needs to be given a go too, there’s too many unknowns in the squad for me.

You need to be playing the strongest possible team with the extra money moving up a place offers. if that wasn't a consideration I'd completely replace most of the lousy let downs for what otherwise be a meaningless game with the fate signed sealed & delivered.

It doesn’t really matter , though I imagine the same side as has recently been turning out . I’d like to see him start Jay though as he really deserves a great ovation .
Roll on next season .
