I would but it takes then an absolute age to come back out so I'll be off, I have a long drive home without waiting for ages listening to that goon on the microphone padding it out.

It depends on how we play probably. If we win 3 0 more will stay

Re: After final whistle today
It’s a shame that people have to run on the pitch otherwise the players after shaking hands with the opposition could just walk round the pitch at that point to thank the supporters, all done in quick time.

Apart from the old stalwarts leaving there is nothing to applaud for this season

Hoping it’s a great turnout for the lap of the pitch after the game.

Re: After final whistle today
It would be nice if people stay to see off Cork and JBG (and maybe Jay Rod and Taylor). Nothing to else to really applaud this season.
If we go 3-0 down it will be a graveyard though.

Got to be straight after and the cheering will be for the old guard, who have all earned their Clarets spurs.
Up the Clarets.

Thankfully in some respect has been my grandsons christening today , so whatever happens it will be special for me. Just seen the updates though on the score …. Let’s just get the players on for recognising their service and move on

I stayed to the final whistle but that was it for me - enough was enough

Bit half arsed, just like most of the season. I think initially they'd planned on walking off, but then decided to come backfidelcastro wrote: ↑Sun May 19, 2024 6:35 pmSo how did the lap of dishonour go?

He won't even be doing the half times next season - they mentioned at half time that he is retiring. I remember his voice even from when I was a kid!dougcollins wrote: ↑Sun May 19, 2024 2:00 pmShould never have ousted Ian Bannister, he gets the club.

Re: After final whistle today
I suppose I should have stayed to applaud off JBG and Cork, but this season has been so depressing, I just wanted to get out of there as soon as the final whistle sounded.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Sun May 19, 2024 6:39 pmI stayed to the final whistle but that was it for me - enough was enough
The game was as good as over after fifteen minutes, so I did well to last so long.
Re: After final whistle today
First time in watching Burnley for 50 plus years I've walked off at the final whistle on the last home game
I cannot clap that pathetic bunch of lightweight half hearted bunch of tippy tappy mercenaries.

Re: After final whistle today
Final whistle for me. As for waiting the usual 20-30 minutes for them to reappear? Yep, fair enough if they’ve just won the league, fair enough if they’ve even made a fist of it and gone down fighting, but what we have been subjected to has been shocking. They don’t deserve a “lap of honour” and anyone at the club who suggests otherwise needs potting.
Re: After final whistle today
Final whistle for me also. I did give a standing welcome to Corky, JBG and J Rod. But I wasn't prepared to stay and applaud mediocrity. This was my 63rd season watching this fantastic club but never have I seen only 2 home wins. Abject. With apologies to T S Eliot, this is the way the season ends, not with a bang but with a whimper. But I'll be back next season!!

Best part of the day was seeing and listening to Dobbo at half time. Articulate and charming. Well done, Dobbo.

Kompany should get ten games in the Championship to show that his 'project' is back on track.
Anything less than top six and he should be replaced.

They had to endure a little speech by Kompany for two minutes then did a quick lap of honour. It was over by five past six.bobinho wrote: ↑Sun May 19, 2024 6:48 pmFinal whistle for me. CFS gave JBG and Cork a little send off then I thought that’s enough with the ground virtually empty.
Re: After final whistle today
That must be the first time that nobody has tried to go on the pitch at the final whistle.
Re: After final whistle today
I applauded Cork and JBG, the rest of them can feck right off.

Says it all when even the numpties can't be bothered to have their annual pitch invasion.

Stayed for 10 mins and applauded Jay Rod, Jack C and Guddy etc off the pitch.

Re: After final whistle today
I couldn’t leave quick enough when the final whistle sounded. I stood and applauded our ‘proper players’ who are being released as and when they were subbed on, that was enough for me. Absolute shite today. We had nothing to play for but we played like we had less than nothing to play for.

What do you mean by "proper players"

Even after a good season like we had in storming the championship, that clown was still grinding my gears.
It's nigh on impossible to have a chat about the game at HT with Mr Shouty on PA.
"Make some noise"
He certainly follows his own advice.

I wondered if that was a rhetorical question but as you've put a question mark I'm assuming you want a response. Yes or No ?
