No press when they're in possession, no movement when we are. Absolute lack of structure and ambition, are they even being coached? it looks like eleven lads that have brought their boots and met in the car park.

This is absolutely dire. So predictable as soon as we go 1-0 up we revert to type. The sooner Southgate moves on the better.

A decent manager recognises the huge issue we’re having from Trent in the middle and makes a change at HT. Won’t happen.

We have no idea how to control a game. They are much better organised team-wise than we are.

Playing TAA again when it clearly didn’t work against Serbia, when Denmark are so strong in that attacking midfield area is just stubborn and
Right backs at left back and centre mid
It’s like he’s been watching the VK masterclass

There’s only one reason Southgate has the job… it’s not because he is a winner. He is a serial loser as a player and a manager.

With the wealth of talent available England should be sweeping teams like Denmark aside without much issue instead of just defending and keeping it tight.

Cant believe he picked the same team.

TAA should be nowhere near this.

Trippier shouldn't be at left back.

And Southgate must have more discipline with Kane in respect of where he's playing, WTF was he doing where he was playing that ball infield for their goal?

Seriously disappointing half after a below par performance against Serbia. It’s blatantly obvious Trent in there isn’t working. He’s an outstanding player but his skill set is for right back. I can’t believe he’s got Mainoo & Wharton on the bench and neither have got the nod over him.

Typical Southgate B-side showing.
Time and time again he's proved he's never be a top manager & never will be.
Such a shame with the talent available.

Also not sure why he doesn't try two up top with Kane and Watkins along with Gordon on the left - we'd be so much more dynamic.

Should be the last game Kane starts for me. With Watkins, it’ll bring out Bellinghams best, and also Fodens. We wouldn’t then even mention KT or TAA.

Not knocking those two but we shouldn't be in a position where we're pinning our hopes on players with less than 50 top flight appearances between them.

How come the average fan in the street could spot after the last game that Trent isn't a midfielder yet Southgate who's paid millions and a so called manager still can't see it?
And not picking a fit left back just to take his special boy Trippier is criminal.
Get Trent off, get Bellingham, Rice and Foden central and Gordon on the wing being direct

Said it many times, great players, crap team.

Southgate hasn't a clue. You can't fix a problem when you are the only person who can't see you've got one.

The most galling thing is all these pundits pulling us apart, but all frightened to lay the blame at the right door.

Let them sit back.

Score!

As said pre-tournament, by professionals, TAA is completely out of his depth as a ball winner in MF. Gallagher or Mainoo would do a better job.
Sarfgate cannot coach defence and yet as soon as we get a lead they sit back. Get at ‘em, the benefit of scoring first is that they have to come out and leave spaces behind.
After all that our 11 multi-millionaires do not want to be playing football in June when there are beaches to lie on. They might spout about the honour of playing for their country but they rarely show it. The standard of first touch, simple pass and effort is terrible.

Anyway after all that I hope for a much better second half. Most of the matches have changed after the break but they have better coaches than us.

Real Madrids Arda Guler (who ripped one in for Turkey the other night) has made 10 appearances for Madrid and 42 first team games total.

If they’re good enough, they’re good enough.

Where are all the “Yeah but he got us to a final” Southgate apologists?

He’s an absolute muppet. You’d have to be to not get a tune out of these. Doesn’t help with square pegs in round holes. That was a concern for many before the tournament, so no surprise it’s biting us in the arse.

The only surprising thing is that there will still be a few who think we will actually do something with this clown at the helm.
