Must admit JJ’s jet flying from Texas to Holland just to deliver RVN to Manchester on a 1 hour flight, which he could just get any other private flight for, is causing my mind to play some mental gymnastics.
I don't even think he has a jet

I guess that once a payslip has a BFC logo on the top of it, you may as well get it announced.

But yes, seems slightly odd.

How cost effective is it to get JJs jet from USA to fly to Netherlands to pick RVN up to fly him to Manchester when they could just hire a private Jett from either Manchester or the Netherlands to bring him.

Players aren’t back in till Monday
I'm not sure on costs but if you wanted to impress a future manager, it would be better to pick him up in your jet.
That's if you have one.

I’m convinced that the assistant before HEAD COACH/MANAGER thing is just to build anticipation .

In no world would Bellamy be the main attraction here . This could well be planning in the making for a leader that has once fallen out with his staff etc, in order to keep a structure in place in case he was form for it.

Surely you can impress a manager by providing a Jett that doesn’t have to fly for 10 hours just to pick you up

I thought it seemed we were going down the head coach route rather than managers who come with an entourage? Here’s a bit of overthinking for you….

Pacio : hey bello lad (Bellamy) how’s the plans for pre season training going?

Bello : great Alan, just a little short of hands after A and B effed off with vk.

Pacio : leave it with me, I’ll find a good experienced and hungry coach who is adaptable and hardworking

Bello : you da best Pacio 😍

This won’t be the new managers no. 2
Pacio : hey bello lad (Bellamy) how’s the plans for pre season training going?

Bello : great Alan, just not too sure who will do the coaching on my 4 none working days that were signed off by Beryl in HR?

Pacio : leave it with me, I’ll find a good experienced and hungry coach who is adaptable and hardworking to cover the days you are playing golf gaffer.

Bello : you da best Pacio 😍

JJ asked his American Football oppo Travis Kelce if they could use his gf Taylors pvt jet but Just Stop Oil put paid to that 🙄

When JJ signed for the Arizona Cardinals, the team owner of the Cardinals flew JJ in, on the team owner's private jet - this was 2019.
Very newsworthy then, so I also would be surprised if JJ has his own private jet now (enormous difference in wealth between team owner and highly paid player).

I think that Pace doesn't want to be caught with his pants around his ankles again, so he's taking as much precaution as possible in ensuring the football operation isn't tied to one individual.
This makes perfect sense. However, what stops a new manager coming in, doing well then City or another big club coming in and poaching him and taking all the background staff with him?

Did RVN wait at the airport for JJs jet to turn up from the US? Would it not have just been easier and probably cheaper to rent one for the short trip from the Netherlands to Manchester?

I imagine we will have a manager in the next 7 days then.
Not having one for the start of pre season would be shambolic imo. Would give off a terrible impression to the players.
Not really, they’ll be greeted by a lot of familiar faces and two interim managers in charge that they know well, hardly shambolic or in anyway terrible to a group of adults who will know a lot more than us what is going on.

He'd have been the chief scout then I think.

Brian was a really good man, someone I knew well and someone who bled claret & blue. The success of the club meant everything to him. As a manager, I have so much respect for him in how he dealt with the Orient game in particular, and the season as a whole. I've been told by many that played for him that he was not the best tactically but was a very good man manager.
I think he would have been helped tremendously with Casper in his first spell. Arthur Bellamy in that last spell.

Nothing in effect would stop them if they pay out all their contracts in compensation. No one can’t be replaced.

He doesn't.

If you follow him on his socials it's clear he fly's private within the USA but seems to fly in Business class on United for International. Very few actually 'own' private jets, they just charter them when they need them

Which confirms that no potential new managers have been using his private jet to get here.

Pre season can be the difference between promotion or not. Think of how important Dyches first pre season was in particular and Kompanys as well.

If we were to fly him in we would use the companies we have used before which have all been European based, so yes the JJ jet talk is nonsense.

There's absolutely nothing to have stopped us from announcing Bellamy by now along with Jensen since he is already here.
My logical assumption is that it has to be someone else who can't be announced as yet, maybe due to involvement in Euros or due to continuing negotiations with his current club.

You’ve answered it. No matter what happened in 2022/23, last season was a complete shambles that has cost our club badly.
Hi Tony, I’m interested to know why you think it’s cost our club badly? Sure the last 10 years or so have been a hell of a ride, but for me that’s been us punching above our weight. I get the financial pressure it may bring, however, as much as I like seeing us at the ‘top table’ really our natural level is top half championship in my opinion

It matters v little whether the new head coach is announced tomorrow, next Tuesday or the Wednesday following.

It matters v much that it’s the right person for all involved.

They’ll be a lot more going on in the background we’re unaware of.

You're asking the wrong person, since as a former teacher, along with colleagues, we would frequently go into work at least a week before term started. Very few would be away for the full duration of the holidays.
However, to your point:
Do you really think that every member of the squad will be out of the country for the full summer break?
No one has said that they will go into work, but I would expect that our injured players will be going in to work on their fitness, and there may be a few others who are round and about for whatever reason. ("Some players" might mean just a couple)

Reading between the lines and weighing up little snippets that I hear from time to time, it would seem that AP's trip to the Netherlands, enabled any managerial targets, to remain out of the media limelight for now. I am sure that all will be revealed when all the loose ends are neatly tied up.

I’m sticking my neck out, but I can only see it being RVN now.

RVN doesnt have a number 2, whilst Corberan presumably does, and there’s no reason to delay the announcement of Bellamy if it is indeed him.

Are Brentford punching above their weight......
Ipswich on their current form
Luton were
Everton and Forest are cause they spent more than the rules allowed

You loose your Premier league status at your peril, we gave it away.

What I like about being in the premier league is you have to spend money on the ground and training ground too.

Can we get it back, time will tell.

Must be true then .
I forgot about the length of time teachers have for holidays, forgive me
I needn't have added that detail, but I thought it might trigger you. ;)
(Of course the question of how long teacher's have as "actual" holidays has rumbled on ever since I can remember, and I expect always will)

Maybe Bellamy will become our ‘Tony Parkes’ and be at the club for years to come.

Yes Brentford are. Luton have had their day in the sun (much like Barnsley, Blackpool and going further back Wigan, Swindon etc)

Everton are a MUCH bigger club than we are

Ipswich are going straight back down

Trouble is without the Prem money we start to slide again and we are actually a bottom half Champ club struggling to stay up. Teams that are 'normal level top half Championship' these days are the likes of West Brom and other city clubs.
